More Tour and Travel Advice for the USA and Canada
Contiki strongly recommends all clients be adequately covered for Medical Insurance, Cancellation and Curtailment Insurance prior to their tour departure.
Medical and hospital treatment in the USA is very expensive and some establishments may give lower priority or even refuse people who have no proof of insurance. We also recommend that clients take out insurance coverage against loss of money and personal belongings including luggage. This should also include damage to baggage and possessions.
Travel insurance can be obtained when you book through Contiki, through your travel agent or through insurance companies themselves.

Thanks for the useful article here. Despite the fact that I am working in the auto insurance company I still don’t know too much about travel insurance. I plan to visit North America next year so this one will definitely help me. Thanks!

Travel insurance is awesome, last year i was on a europe tour and needed an emergency operation in switzerland to save my life and my insurance, which only cost me $125au, paid for all my hospital bills, totalling more than $7000au, paid for me to fly business class back to australia and returnd the money for the days i missed on the remainder of my trip. so i highly recommend getting insurance
