US Dollar travelers cheques are sometimes accepted and exchangeable however other currencies such as Canadian, Australian, New Zealand Dollars, Rand, etc, are often difficult to exchange.

Internationally recognized cheques from a company such as Thomas Cook <a href=""target="_blank">(official site), Travelex <a href=""target="_blank">(official site) or American Express <a href=""target="_blank">(official site) are highly recommended as are small denomination cheques (10’s, 20’s and 50’s)

Remember to make a copy and keep a record of your travelers cheque numbers, leave one copy at home and carry another copy separate to the cheques in case of loss or theft.
