Visa Requirements – Cambodia

The Asian Adventure and Big Indochina Adventure tours take a flight from the Laos capital Vientiane to Phnom Penh, capital of Cambodia. On arrival to Phnom Penh, a Cambodian Visa can be purchased. The Cambodian Ministry of Foreign Affairs also offers an e-Visa system – a method of purchasing a visa on line before travelling. This e-Visa system has proved quite successful and a number of travellers have already used it on tours.

If you do not obtain a visa before arriving in Cambodia, you can purchase a Cambodian Tourist Visa on arrival. To obtain the visa, all that is required is a passport with 6 months validity, 2x passport photographs, payment of visa fee and to complete a form (available at the visa checkpoint or on the flight). The visa fee is a flat USD$20 for all nationalities (plus an extra USD$5 if you do not have a passport photos).
Local and limited foreign currency can also be used to pay for visas, but this is strongly discouraged as currency exchanges at the border can offer unfavourable exchanges rates. Many currency exchanges in regional parts of Asia will not change local currency into USD – this can usually only be done at airports. It is suggested that you obtain USD before you travel to pay for this visa. Credit cards, personal check, travellers checks will generally not be accepted.
