We choose unique, traditional places in fantastic locations, like a 16th century French Chateau, a Swiss Chalet and an Austrian Gasthof. Sound like these unique accommodations could add some flair to your holiday? Read on for more details about each of Contiki’s Special Stopovers.

French Chateau

It’s big. It’s grand. It’s ornate. And it’s oh so French. Our very own 16th century Chateau de Cruix overlooks the vineyards of the Beaujolais wine region, where you can picnic, chill out or cool off in the pool. With a bar, club and plasma TVs, the Chateau is the best of both old-world and new. It’s exclusive to Contiki travellers and the recent recipient of a makeover. Tres chic! More about the Chateau…

Austrian Gasthof

The landscape is so beautiful here it’ll leave you pondering new names for shades of green. While you consider your contribution to the colours in the crayon box, you’ll stay at our traditional Gasthof (guesthouse), Haus Schoneck, in Hopfgarten, Austria. And if you’re thirsty at the end of a hard day’s mountain biking or paragliding, there’s a well-loved bar to come home to. More about Haus Schoneck…

Swiss Chalet

Our Swiss Chalet, nestled in the cosy comfort of a glacial valley, is right in the heart of the Swiss Alps. At the foot of the 4159m high Jungfrau Mountain, the Chalet lets you appreciate the serenity of Switzerland with two feet firmly on the ground. And puts you within reach of the top of Europe by way of a cog railway ride up to the very top of the mountain. With an authentic bomb shelter bar under the Chalet, it doesn’t get more Swiss than this. More about the Swiss Chalet…

Hostels and Budget Hotels

In some cities Contiki also utilizes hostel or budget hotel accommodation such as:

<a href="http://www.haus-international.de/"target="_blank">Haus International (Munich, Germany)

<a href="http://www.wombats-hostels.com/vienna-hostel/index.php"target="_blank">Wombat Hostel (Vienna, Austria)

Contiki Villages and Campsites

European Campsites are generally very well equipped with shops, bars, restaurants on site.
