I went on the Europe 21 day camping tour in 04 alone and it was the best thing I ever did. I met so many people...I enjoyed it so much I'm doing the Great Northern (USA) in a few weeks, on my own again :)

Some other suggestions, although not necessary - Travel pillow, chewing gum (especially for those who have ear problems during flight), book and/or ipod and one change of clothing (air lines do lose luggage occasionally)

Itter was one of the nicest town's I've ever been in, absolutely gorgeous. It's a sleepy town, but on Contiki you bring your own nightlife. This was one stop I wont forget.
