Take a chance and find a memory

Every Contiki is filled with exciting moments and shared fun with your new friends. It’s also about having your own time for that random travel tale to tell or finding a special little corner of Australia to remember.

We pack plenty of free time in to each tour so once we’ve shown you the main sights, there’s time to make it yours. Explore with people in your group, or take time out on your own to chat with the locals, lie on the beach or just wander and see where the moment takes you.

If you need ideas, we have tons of awesome optional extras and we can book them for you too so you make the most of your spare time.

  • Learn to paint in the traditional Aboriginal style
  • Spend a day at the Gold Coast’s theme parks
  • See if you can spot a UFO in Wycliffe Well
  • Learn to throw a boomerang
  • Shop up a storm at the designer outlets in Surfers Paradise

Great Barrier Reef optionals

One of the most spectacular places on earth is underwater. The Great Barrier Reef stretches for miles along the Queensland coast, and is a stunning wonder of the world.

Choose one of our several optionals, and surround yourself with schools of amazingly colorful tropical fish and marine life. Snorkel or dive past the bright, vivid coral or if you don’t want to get wet, see the reef from onboard a catamaran instead, or go under the waves in a semi-submersible.

The Great Barrier Reef is simply unreal, and easily one of the best dive sites in the world.
