This European experience contiki tour was the best time of my life. Saw the breathtaking beauty of Europe and am now apart of an amazing, multinational family of fellow contiki travellers. Loved it I want to do it all over again!!!!!!!

This trip was one of the best times of my life!
You get to see the main attractions of the bigger European cities, however I did leave some saying that there wasn’t enough time. But it encourages me to go back, which isn’t a terrible thing :) There is also a mix of historical and scenery towns and some nice down chill time so that you're not always going full ball. An awesome mix.
Some of the optional activities are things I'd never seek out myself but I am so happy I did them! Worth the extra money. Don't pass up the opportunities!
The tour manager was a great guy who could point us in the right directions during our free time for food etc., and teach you the language’s pleasantries, and our bus driver was such a character.
Accommodation was actually better than expected. Staff at the cites were awesome too.
The nights are quite focused around going out, or parties, drinking, and having a good time which I certainly enjoyed. Time to bond even more with your new life-long friends. I went alone and it is nothing to be intimated about! I would actually totally recommend it, it makes you come out of your shell quicker, and even more, and you will form even better relationships with the others.
I think this tour was just about the perfect length. Take some vitamins before you go though, everyone but 1 person on my bus ended up getting 'contiki cough' throughout the trip.
Went on this in July 2011 and enjoyed it so much am currently planning out my second Contiki :)

I had the time of my life!!! Met super amazing people and got to see evan more amazing places!!!
Accommadation was good - think 99% of us got most of our sleep on the coach (bus) ride to our next destination..... :D
We had the best coash driver and tour guid - made a great team and that made the trip just that much more awesome.
In France and Italy we had a lot of Pizza and Pasta, and then when we got to Germany we got around to the food that I as a South African love. In Germany there was a lot of beer drinking.
All the Contiki stop overs had a bar - and wow what a PARTY!!!
I recommend this trip to anyone that wants to see Europe and have fun!!!

We visited every country and although at times it felt like we were flying by the seat of our pants everything we got to see and experience was great.
I definitely recommend doing the optionals. Contiki has picked some of the best things to do in the different countries, and although for some people it may be a bit boring, like just a dinner in Florence, it is well worth the money.
If you don't want to do the optionals the crew are awesome people and will advise you on whatever you want to know. They know the best bars, clubs, restaurants, sightseeing areas, monuments, statues, etc in the area. Things to do and places to see.
Accommodation for some seemed to be not fancy enough. Personally, I was there to see Europe, not hang out in a hotel room. The accommodation was just fine.
We usually ate local food and they were all good wholesome meals. And breakfast seemed pretty standardized across the sites. Nothing fancy but fitting for all tastes.
The crew would always go above and beyond to ensure that everyone was having a great time. If you had special requests they would see if it was at all possible to accomplish them.
The coach was very comfortable. I did some solo travel after the tour and it was far less comfortable.
All the people on tour were friendly, and although not all of us may have gotten along, we were civil to each other and by the end of the nights were all dancing in one crazy group. Contiki is the time to leave any prejudice and pet hates aside and just enjoy the people for who they are.
I really loved Austria, I'm more an adventure/ outdoor sort of person and Austria was just packed with Mountain Bike ride, Paragliding and White Water Rafting.
I did enjoy the cities, walking, shopping and seeing all the ancient architecture.
This tour had an even mix of everything on the tour. There was shopping, adventure, walking tours, cultural viewing and plenty of group bonding.
I would absolutely recommend this tour to everyone who wanted a quick view of some of the most popular sites. This tour has let me taste all those infamous sites that everyone raves on about wanting to seeing (Paris, Rome, Amsterdam, etc). And has given me a basic idea of what I want to go back and re-visit, and explore further.

I had the best time of my life during the European Experience... My whole group was fantastic and have made some friends for life.. You need to do all the optionals.. Your only there once so try everything. Austria & the Swiss Alps are the 2 most beautiful countries. I wish we had spent more time there! One of the best nights out was Nouvelle Eve Cabaret show! Best optional without a doubt was the White water rafting & paragliding in Austria.. Try as much of the local foods as possible.

The tour included everything that I thought it would and I feel like I definitely got my money's worth. Even though the trip was pressed for time to squeeze everything in, I got what I wanted out of every place. I loved the very top of the Eiffel tower, the Chateau de Croix in France, the Colosseum, Vatican City, the gondola's in Venice, and the paragliding in Austria.
I really appreciated the work that our tour Manager, Mike and driver, Andras put in to make it a successful trip. There were some bumps in the road but with these guys at the front of the coach they always made me feel taken care of. Mike's passion for the job and for Europe was clearly reflected during the tour with how he spoke about the different counties we were entering, to partying with us till the early hours of the morning even though we all had to be up early. Even his day sheets rocked :)
I would definitely recommend Contiki for the more intense traveler that likes adventure and to see everything humanly possible in the amount of time they are given, not for the people who consider vacation as sleeping in and laying on the beach all day.
I am currently saving up for another vacation, and I hope I am able to do it with Contiki.

This is a great tour, you go to some really awesome places. the only thing that I would say is that it is a bit rushed.. i prefer the slower paced tours. also i felt most of the hotels were a bit outside of town. If you can afford the superior level of tour i would go with that. you'll get more bang for your buck.

Going through all these amazing tours online, i wanted to get the most out of "my trip" with the amount of days i had to play with. This tour to me gave me a taste of the best of Europe, as i got to experience a bit of each place which i think we covered 8 countries in 20 days. I was quite a shy girl before i left for this trip but after a day of travelling with your new tour mates, i was talking and socialisng with them all and some i have made close friendships with! This trip changed me for the better, i am more confident, independent and happier and i thank Contiki for helping me gain this much need confidence.
The optionals i thought covered everyones needs such as the dare devils, the quieter types and the party goers.. so for me i felt it was a good mix. One of my favourite optionals was going up Jungfrau mountain, what an amazing experience, i would fit this in your budget! As it is mind blowing! Most beautiful sight... and the snow is good fun too.. so pack some winter wollies and you will need them!
Accomodation was good! Most places we had our own private cabins in a seperate area of the camp grounds such as Florence i think from memory? Best place was definetly in the Beaujolas Region the Chateau was amazing, the scenery, the wine and the little club downstairs was good fun too! Good taste of what was to come down the track.
Theme partys were a highlight too! In each place we stayed the crew would plan theme partys for us for example we had a traffic light party and so you had to wear something red green or yellow... depending on your status :P. Other themes were Venetian (venice) tight and bright... I
Overall i would defiently suggest this tour to any one looking for a taste of what Europe has to offer! Great way to see where you would like to go back to and explore more... i know im already thinking of what i would like to do next year... Hope you find this helpful :)

I had a great trip. Our coach manager was fantastic and so was the driver. I met so many amazing people and have a lot of great memories. If your looking to do seeing something quirky I recommend going to the Swarovski museum, not at all what I expected, it was fantastically odd and lovely. Biggest advice would be to skip to Tuscan dinner. The food was not that great. And ALWAYS check your bed for bedbugs before getting in it! Luckily I was safe but a few people on my tour weren't. One place we stayed dubbed "Grandma's House" had a lot of beds infested with bugs. Other than that it was a really fabulous time. I travelled solo and had no regrets in that aspect. I did stay a couple extra days in Amsterdam which was nice and gave me some time to relax before heading home. Word of advice two extra days is not enough!! Also make sure you bring a large supply of cold medication including cough drops. It's very likely you will get sick with the Contiki cough. I brought a back pack which was nice at times but other times I wish I had brought a suitcase. So if you are having trouble deciding you will be okay with either one on this trip. The back was definitely easier to carry around once I had left the tour and was on my own. It's a fast paced adventure with little down time but if your ready for a whirlwind of an experience I recommend it

This is the best thing I've ever done in my life, and I'm not kidding!
Made lifelong friends who I'll never forget and WILL be making more than an effort see again.
Our driver and manager were our friends, they were great company. The trip was a perfect mixture of fun, drinking and seeing amazing sights.
I'm recommending contiki to all my friends, it's changed my life. The hardest thing was saying goodbye to everyone!

The whole experience was above and beyond what I had expected. Both our tour manager and driver (Sanjay and muffin) were more than helpful and made our trip even more enjoyable! We couldn't have been more happy with our trip and the services provided at each location. Thank you very much!

This trip was amazing! It was very organized and we got to see a little bit of everything. It would be nice to spend more time at certain tourist attractions, but in the event of time we had to leave. It was difficult to roll the suitcases on gravel to get to certain cabins and up hills. The food was manageable for the most part, I would recommend eating light at the service stops since they are expensive and not very good. The bus driver was very accommodating and would drop us off at central locations. The tour manager always told us where to go and how to get back to the hotel/stopover via taxi/train, this allowed us to stay later if the bus left. What made the trip was the people; our tour group was very inclusive. We laughed, fought and cried together, but in the end we all loved each other!

Ok so I am from South-Africa.. And I wanted to to a tour into Europe.. And then I decided to do Contiki. A decision I will never regret! I met so many people that were so friendly ( a lot of Ausies) lol! And im sure we all will stay good friends in the years to come, we already planning a Contiki reunion haha! We had the most awesome coolest tour manager ever! He was so much fun and he made the trip so much more better! A crazy Polish coach driver was also involved and got us everywhere safely and partied with us when he could, man that guy could drink! We had a really tight group of people and we always partied together till 3 in the morning and waking up at 7 for the next day haha! I miss all my crazy friends already! We are calling it the ''Contiki withdrawal'' haha!
I would recommend this tour to any and everyone! Words and Photo's can not describe how much fun it is until you do it yourself! Yes the Contiki cough does exist and yes some of you will get sicker than others, but its called a Pharmacy and take pills with. I even got sick, but I still had the time of my life and I will do it again and again and again! I am already planning my next trip as well I loved it so much!
The best thing about Contiki is their is something for everyone, whether you are an Art lover or there for the Parties, or like me and wanted the best of both Worlds.. Contiki provides to all!
Your day off means you do as you please, the will give you maps and tell you what is around to do. Just make sure you see what you planned on seeing.
The transport in Europe is very good and easy to use, as long as you have a address to point at when you want to go home you pretty much sorted lol! But that's the fun part.. Going out into town, getting lost and ''trying'' to make your way back. And trust me you do get lost, especially in places like Venice lol!
The food is amazing, try and eat as much local as possible! Not only is it way cheaper than the restaurants, but that's why you are there.. to do things the Local way. Eat local food and drink local drinks.
And it also helps a bit if you know some of the local words (but the tour manager will help you out with that one), and that can get pretty funny!
Keep the money aside for the optional extras you want to do (you can pay everything upfront) and then work out a daily budget depending on how much of a spender you are.. But I can guarantee most of you will go over budget, so have some spare cash somewhere.
I did every possible optional extra, partied every night and saw everything I wanted to see. I slept round 4 to 5 hours everyday and maby in the bus if I was lucky haha! I had a hangover on most days (but nothing water could not fix) Drink lots of water! I made 43 new friends and my Contiki plus many more when we met the other groups and I went way over budget and I did it all by myself... But i will do it again and I'm gong to as well! I travel a lot, but this is probably the Best and most fun way to see the world!
Trust me on this one, When it comes to a Contiki tour.. Don't even think about it just do it! I promise you will not regret it!
