Good Tour but....

01 Mar 2014 - 13 Mar 2014

This was my first contiki trip. I loved all the sites and the guided tours were excellent. However this tour is not for the faint hearted, it is a world wind tour and you spend a lot of time on the bus/coach. I would not recommend the optional dinners as they were mediocre, I cancelling the final dinner which I'm so glad I did as many people complained about it.

Overall this is a good, fast way of seeing many beautiful sites and meeting some great people.

Amazing - worth every cent!

04 Mar 2011 - 17 Mar 2011

Excellent tour. Probably one of the best trips of my life. I met so many people on this trip that I've actually stayed in touch with over the last year. I've even gone travelling with some of them after. I was able to see so many sites that I doubt I would have been able to on my own. I know people say that Contiki is a very bar oriented and party hard kind of tour group, but really it comes down to who you hang out with. I hung out with like minded people who would rather experience more of the cultural aspects of this region than sit in a bar -which you can do at home. We saw a lot more sites than many of our tour group did because we chose to spend our time differently. On your free days be sure to wake up early and make the most of your days. Sleep in when you're at an all inclusive - not here. There's too much to see and do. Also wear a money belt! Two people I was with almost go pick pocketed. Fortunately one of them had a money belt. I did almost every optional except for the group photo one which we did anyway with out the additional price. I don't recommend the club in Italy. Lots of teenyboppers and techno music - but maybe that's your thing. If you have any questions about this tour give me a shout.

Better off Backpacking

07 Jan 2012 - 20 Jan 2012

If you're interested in sighseeing avoid this company and tours you're better off backpacking on your own. I've backpack before and this was my fist time going on a "guided" tour. Too many Australian, stuck up kids on this trip. These people were interested in just getting drunk. The beds were horrible. It's the winter time, low season. we should have at least get something better. The beds were as hard as the floor. I hated the fact that we had "options" I though everything was included. The tour manager kept saying to tip the guides, the bus driver and even her. She wanted 26 euros for her and 26 for the driver. We were 51 people, THAT'S 1326 euros EXTRA!! My package included that already so I wasn't going to pay anyone additional tips. The dinner at Monaco and the good bye dinner should have been included. Avoid the winter is too cold and some places are not even open. They took us to Portovino. There was one restaurant open and the whole island was deserted. Waste of my life. i WOULDN'T RECOMEND THIS COMPANY TO ANYONE..SORRY BUT I EXPECTED MORE THAN WHAT I GOT
