Best way to see Scandinavia

20 Aug 2016 - 28 Aug 2016

This was my second Contiki and it was just a much fun as my first. The optionals were all good fun and there was plenty of free time to go out and explore. Highly recommend the bobsled in Norway - it was such an adrenaline rush and not something you would do everyday.
Met a really great group of people and our trip manager and driver were always there to make sure we had an enjoyable time.
I was a solo traveller and most people in this group were too but by the end of the week I had made friends from all around the world. Finished the week with #noregrets

Best 9 days of my life

09 Jul 2016 - 17 Jul 2016

I cannot recommend this tour enough. This tour and these countries will stay with me for the rest of my life.
Copenhagen and Stockholm are two of the most beautiful cities I have been to. Wandering along their canals had me planning to move! The scenery while driving through the Norwegian fjord-lands took my breath away. No words are able to convey the beauty of these days and are something everyone should see during their life.
Experiencing sunlight at midnight in Voss and Hellesylt is something I will never forget. We also saw snow! As an Australian, seeing snow in Norway in the middle of summer was a highlight of the trip. My favourite MEtime optional was the bobsled - definitely do this! It was fast and thrilling and I wish I could've gone again.
All accommodation was comfortable and clean. Some hostels in Norway were very basic but they were comfortable enough to sleep, and we didn't spend much time in them anyway. The food included was also simple and basic but it was enjoyable and filled a hole.
I traveled solo and worried I wouldn't make friends or fit in but I realised I had nothing to worry about. By the end of the tour I counted everyone as some of my closest friends.
My one tip I have would be to consider ending the tour in Helsinki. I would have loved to spent a few more days travelling on the tour and wish I had ended in Finland.
P.S. Buy 'smash' in Norway - it's the most amazing chocolate you will ever eat!

Amazing, sights, people, driver and tour guide!

07 Jun 2014 - 15 Jun 2014

I would highly recommend this tour to anyone looking at seeing scenic scandinavia.
I usually travel alone but there was no way i would have seen things and gone to the cities i did if i did this by myself.
Most things are covered in the price of the tour so you dont have to spend much money if you dont want to.
The hostels you stay at are great, especially in copenhagen.
Alot of free time to explore on your own, nothings rushed and the tour guide will give you all the info you need to get to where you want.
Long drive days and VERY cold in places!
Great tour!

My trip to Scandinavia was Purely Amazing

20 Jun 2013 - 30 Jun 2013

I highly recommend this Contiki trip to Scandinavia! Copenhagen exceeded my expectations, it was a beautiful city. We got to walk up and down the street Strøget which was spectacular. Oslo was one of my favorites: visiting the Holmenkollen ski jump allowed for a breathtaking view of the city and the fjord, and our group partook in the Viking Biking bike tour which allowed for a quick tour of the city which allowed us to reach places we couldn't have practically gotten to by the coach (a few beaches, the Viking Ship museum, and a nice path through the royal farm). Best of all we got to have a real cultural experience and eat some whale! The drive up to Voss was beautiful, even better, where we stayed in Voss was the best view I had seen all my life: right on the lake with a perfect view of the mountains. We were able to swim in the lake and enjoy the hostel's sauna. Next we traveled to Hellesylt which was without a doubt the most gorgeous drive, and gorgeous location for a night's stay. Here we got to dive into the fjord, and truly experience the White Nights (it never got dark!). On the drive to Gjøvik we visited a stunning Glacier and drove through a beautiful highland park with ice packs and a great lake. We also stopped in the Olympic town of Lillehammer and got to go wheelbobbing, which was great fun. It was unfortunate the tour ended in Stockholm for us, the crew and group we went with were amazing! Luckily my friends and I booked an extra night in Stockholm and were able to go to The Original Ice Bar with everyone; that was a great final experience.
All in all, our tour manager Lasse and our Coach driver Baja made the trip more enjoyable. They both had a good sense of humor and were highly committed to their job. Together they were a fun team: both wanted to partake in the events with us when they could and they allowed for so many photo stops! My album is full of outstanding pictures of Norway. I thank them most of all for my experience. I will never forget it.
