I came into this tour excited and ready. Turns out this tour was more about booze and getting drunk than seeing NZ. I was on a tour with majority of young 20 year olds. I thought id make friends..turns out i only made one or two friends. Optional activities were amazing...best ever. I would never have done Skydiving anywhere else. I think contiki should have coupon vouchers or something so when we're o our own we can have discounts not only on the tour. an idea. Nights out were fun until....the booze came out. One thing i wish the tour manager and bus driver would have done on the tour...control us. They didnt control us - they let us run wild like "wild ones" our day song. Too much encouraging of drinking on the whole tour - the Taupo Dinner/ Party Cruise - seriously dont offer cheap drinks on it. Offer water and soft drinks. Better to have sober people and go to the pub AFTER the cruise to get drunk than have crazy mess of a party on the waters. I enjoyed the tour most in Queenstown for freedom sake. I was able to explore the place more.Need more days in Queenstown. I wasnt able to go bungy cause i was too scared..i wish i went on the Kawara bungy. i wimped out when people were registering while we were there. More time in Wellington and Auckland.We never saw the saw the SkyCity Tower in City Centre. I would go with contiki again when i go to USA...but on one condition - LESS swearing, LESS booze and well MORE control over how people are drinking.More control of the contiki tour manager and bus driver. I wish that my tour manager and bus driver weren't drinking...role models anyone? It was a fun tour but i would change many things on the tour. Also being hugely embarassed by my tour manager...not fun when it was a joke the whole time and nobody could tell. Contiki is okay...NZ is better!
one thing i am annoyed about: people were allowed to bring alcoholo on the bus to take to the next stop..seriously wait until the pub when its night time and the party life. Contiki seriously get your act together! No glass bottles on the bus..but you allow alcohol under the bus?
