I had a fantastic experience on my first contiki tour. I was initially nervous about travelling alone, but as soon as we arrived I met everyone else, most in the same shoes as me. The south island was beautiful and the tour itself was packed full of activities to keep us busy! It went at just the right pace to keep us on the go but not sleep deprived. Queenstown was amazing - I highly recommend budgeting as many additional activities here as possible. One thing you'll need to be aware of is that you can't do both skiing and the Milford Sound cruise due to scheduling conflicts. Upon discussion with my fellow contiki-ers I'm glad I chose the ski option as the Milford Sound crew were a bit disappointed with their activity choice. The accommodation was always comfortable but basic in most locations with the exception of Queenstown and Dunedin where the accommodation was great. Loved this tour - go!
