What is the U.S. main currency?

The US Dollar ($) is the main currency that’s used in the USA.

When is the best time to visit the U.S.?

The best time to visit the US depends on what you wanna do. Overall, the US tends to have good weather all throughout the year. Between April and August (that’s spring & summer) is the perfect to visit the classic attractions like NYC and LA. During the winter months (November to February) the weather tends to be harsher in the Northern parts of the US, but places in the South and West Coast are cool and breezy.

Do I need a visa to travel to the U.S.?

Your visa requirements can change according to your citizenship. If you’re confused about whether you need a visa to travel to the US, we’ve got a handy visa guide to help you out.

What should I pack for a trip to the U.S.?

Since the US is a large country with diverse weather conditions, what you should pack can change according to a lot of factors. But as a general rule, here’s what you should pack (other than your passport!)

Loose clothing, tank tops and shorts: For the warmer climate (like in California)
Multiple layers: It’s good to carry a thick jacket & a light one that you can swap out according to the weather
Hiking boots: If you’re looking to visit the iconic national parks of the US.
Basic medication: If you need any while on the road.
Camera: The views are gonna be so worth it.

What is ATM access like in the U.S.?

ATMs tend to be easily available in the USA. Just be wary of those sneaky fees, and you’ll be good to go.

How many days should I spend in the U.S.?

The US is a huge country. Both in terms of geographical area & the things you can do. That’s why most trips to the US tend to be quite long. Generally, if you wanna hit the iconic hotspots, about 20-25 days on average are enough (like our USA road trip!) But if you’re looking to focus on just one part of the US, like the West or East coast, then around 5-10 days are enough.

What is the tipping culture in the U.S.?

The stereotype is true. Tipping is generally expected in the USA. Usually, about 20-25% on top of your bill (before sales tax) is standard. And you’re always welcome to give some extra tips if you really love the service.

Is tap water safe to drink in the U.S.?

Yep. The USA has one of the most reliable drinking water systems in the world. That’s why you’ll be just fine drinking tap water in the US.
