1 – Germans love their sausages (we did know this). But did you know, the good people of Berlin eat around 127 tons of sausages EACH DAY. That’s a LOT of Bratwurst. (Germany itself has over 1,000 kinds of sausages!)

2 – With 175 museums, Berlin is said to have more museums than rainy days.

3 – Berlin is home to the longest sneaker wall in the world. The KICKZ shop in the Mitte district has about 370 different sorts of sneakers on its wall. A trainer lovers dream!

4 – The infamous Michael Jackson baby dangling over balcony incident happening at the Adlon hotel in Berlin.

5 – Berlin zoo is one of the largest in the world with over 14,000 creatures and 1,500 species.

6 –The longest word in the Germany language is Donaudampfschifffahrtselektrizitätenhauptbetriebswerkbauunterbeamtengesellschaft (79 letters). Try saying that five times fast.

7 – Berlin is nine times bigger than Paris.

8 – When JFK visited Berlin, he greeted the city with the words ‘Ich bin ein Berliner’. This translates to mean ‘I am a jelly donut’.

9 – Berlin has around 1,700 bridges, way more than Venice!

10 – Watch out for pigeon poo – the flying rats of Berlin drop around 10,000 kilograms of poo onto the streets every single day!
