36th street subway stairs

New York, New York.

Subway-detail_full_for_exchange

Simple minds, simple pleasures. Evidently a lot of the world owns a pretty simple mind because this video of people tripping over has gone bonkers over the last day.

Filmmaker Dean Peterson noticed a while ago that people at his subway stop in Brooklyn were always tripping over the same step on their way up to ground level.

Being a doer, not just an observer, Peterson set up a couple of cameras and filmed people’s stumbles over the step, which is ever-so-slightly bigger than all the others.

It’s a very simple concept, but it’s pretty funny to watch.

Apparently the city has just closed that entry to the 36th Street stop. Oh, the power of the internet.
