It’s funny to think about Apple’s rise and fall and rise. In the 1980s nothing could touch them (much like now) – so much so that somebody thought it was a good idea to release an entire clothing line.
And nobody in the company objected.
So the 1986 Apple collection existed, and it was tremendous. There was garb for the whole family – men, women and children – and it was all gaudy and bold and pretty ugly, but pretty awesome at the same time.
It had a real athletic vibe, with plenty of sweaters, running shorts and polo tee-shirts. But there was also a business casual vibe in the form of button-up shirts and even belts.
What we wouldn’t give for one of those Apple logo caps these days…
