The Lowry is a creative institution that lives waterside in the middle of the redeveloped Salford Quays in Manchester.
It’s an amazing building just to look at; lots of metallic, light and colour – but then there’s the rest. There are theatres, studio spaces, bars, cafes, and a restaurant, suffice to say, you could probably spend an entire week in this place.
Just a few days ago, famed artist Ben Eine unveiled a huge artwork at the Lowry, and it is – like the building – big, bold, colourful and eight different shades of fun. The pieces say “To express thoughts or feelings easily and effectively”, essentially explaining what the word ‘communication’ means.
Eine has been making his mark on the streets for over 20 years now, but perhaps gained his real fame when President Obama was presented with one of his pieces. Hey, if it’s good enough for Mr President!
The Lowry is at Pier 8, Salford Quays, Greater Manchester.
