Crave

Bowery, Dallas.

A slice of NY in Texas.

Bowery-detail_full_for_exchange

One thing America has truly mastered is the humble hotdog and thanks to the foodie/gourmet revolution that’s happening here (and just about everywhere) a bunch of great spots are popping up, offering high-quality meals without the high-end prices.

One such place is Bowery in Dallas, Texas.

Bowery offers dine-in or take-away dogs that are made with love: the sausages are made from farm-raised cattle and the buns are fresh-baked on the daily. Everybody knows that any food is better when it’s made from fresh and quality ingredients, correct?

But let’s talk about the dogs properly; they are pretty incredible. There’s a Mexican-vibed dog that is wrapped in bacon and topped with pinto beans, contija cheese, salsa verde, sour cream and jalapenos. There’s a Vietnamese dog that’s made with pork sausage and hoisin sauce. There’s a Moroccan dog made with Merguez sauage, harissa and apricot slaw. The Chigaco Dog, the Buffalo Dog, the Italian Dog… And they’re all priced under $10.

Then there are some high-brow dogs – you get waygu, duck, and dogs served with smoked gouda, foie gras and all kinds of fancy ingredients.

Hot diggity dawg.

The Bowery is at 3407 Mckinney Ave, Dallas, Texas.
