The very gorgeous Cat Power (aka Chan Marshall) hasn’t released any new material for some time, but thankfully we’re about to get hit with a whole new LP.

Entitled Sun, it’s Cat Power’s first album in over six years and it was recorded and produced by Marshall herself, in a self-built studio in Malibu. There was some production assistance from Philippe Zdar though, a guy who has worked with The Rapture, the Beastie Boys, Phoenix and a bunch of others.

Cat Power has released one song for download and as a little teaser for the full record. It’s very nice to have the Atlanta-born singer/songwriter back.
