Candice Tripp in London

New York City street style.

London-based, Cape Town-born artist Candice Tripp paints pictures of quite a dark and strange world. Kids in masks performing strange rituals, bears harnessed to balloons floating in mid-air, octopus tentacles – all kinds of absurd and creepy.

Tripp left South Africa for London back in 2004 but is now a fully fledged Brit (kind of) and works full-time as an artist.

She’s exhibited her works in the United Kingdom and the United States, and is about to open her show Petit-Mal at Black Rat Projects this coming Thursday.

If you’re not going to get nightmares about the strange children in creepy masks, you should definitely go.

Black Rat Projects is as Arch 461, 83 Rivington Street, London.
