Dan Deacon’s America album

Stream the entire record.

Dandeacon-detail_full_for_exchange

Baltimore-based musician Dan Deacon hasn’t released an LP since way back in 2009 (it seems “way” back) when the very excellent Bromst came out.

Thankfully his highly anticipated 13th record, called America, is not only set for release very soon, but you can also stream the entire thing right now.

Still rife with cutesy and strange sound effects that appear to have come straight out of some oddball ‘80s Jim Henson-style kids’ movie, America is – as expected – a little strange and very lovely.

Deacon really knows how to blend euphoria with melancholy, heavy with playful, frenetic with composed. If we had to try to sum up the genres that Deacon blends together – along with all those feelings that permeate his work – we’d be lost for words. (Though we’re sure that proper music critics could do it with their ears closed.)

Suffice to say, we really dig this.

Listen to it here.
