And celebrates with a pop-up store and global club tour
Music heads, listen up. Legendary independent house music label Defected is turning 15 this year, and true to form is celebrating in spectacular style. The label, who boasts the likes of Dimitri from Paris, Nick Curly, Yousef and Dennis Ferrer on their roster of artists, is opening their first ever record and online store, allowing fans exclusive access into its impressive catalogue of music from past to present.
Opening on May 1st in a super cool exhibition space in London’s vibrant Shoreditch, the pop-up shop will stock limited edition original releases from the labels archives which fans will be able to both listen to and buy. Rare memorabilia from the labels 15 year history will also be on show, as well as their successful branded fashion range. Featuring the slogan ‘I AM DEFECTED’, fans will be able to purchase the core clothing range, as well as the new ‘Defected 15’ sweats and tees which have been designed especially for the forthcoming summer season. Mega exciting is that the Defected family are all getting involved, so expect to catch the best DJs, producers and artists from the global house music scene delivering a series of events, talks and workshops during the pop-up stores residency.
If you can’t make it down to the pop-up shop, all is not lost. Alongside the store launch, Defected are also launching their online store, D Store, which will offer a full music download service as well as Defected fashion apparel and accessories. BUT THAT’S NOT ALL. As this is a record label birthday celebration, of course there’s going to be some serious partying happening, namely a 15 date global club tour which will visit cities including Los Angeles, Sydney, Tokyo, Ibiza and Amsterdam before cumulating in what we can only anticipate will be a spectacular party in London.
