Dick Smith, engaging in the most sacred of national pastimes (that would be taking the piss mate), has released this (obvious viral video attempt) "banned" TVC intended to run during Australia Day primetime news bulletins. Or not at all it seems: the ad features enough jingoistic rhetoric to pique the interest of ASIO, Fry and Laurie levels of sexual innuendo gags and the decidedly distasteful image of boat people gleefully accepting Dick Smith food products after escaping from a burning shipwreck. The spot is the work of comedian Dan Ilic, which explains a lot.
