Crave

Dishoom, London

Indian in Covent Garden.

Dishoom-detail_full_for_exchange

Dishoom is one of those restaurants that looks a little ritzy, but the prices don’t match. Our favourite kind!

Styled to appear like the city’s original Bombay Café there are framed photos of Bollywood stars on the walls, but it’s not entirely kitschy. More important than the design, this Covent Garden spot is one of London’s favourite Indian restaurants because not only is it inexpensive, it’s also delicious.

We suggest Sheekh Kabab (spiced lamb with cumin and lime), grilled masala prawns and the Chole-Chawal – which is basically a big bowl full of spiced chickpeas with rice.

They also serve traditional Indian breakfast (or your Western classic eggs and toast) which looks and sounds like a treat.

Dishoom is at 12 Upper St. Martin's Lane, London.
