He’s the red headed Brit that’s stolen our hearts (no, not Prince Harry) and has been popping up everywhere recently...it is of course, Ed Sheeran! This talented singer-songwriter is currently in the middle of an amazing tour which will see him perform in Germany, America, Canada, England, Scotland, Belgium, Holland, France, Australia and New Zealand (to name just a few), and with so many opportunities to see him live, we thought we’d run a little profile on the kid.
Sheers (as we’ve so affectionately nicknamed him) burst onto the commercial music scene in June last year with the release of his hit ‘The A Team’. Though the 21yrs old singer had been performing since a young age and had been recording songs since 2005, ‘The A Team’ was what bought him into the spotlight when it debuted at number three on the UK Singles Chart. The release of this hit was swiftly followed by ‘Lego House’, another brilliant track in his debut album, and it wasn’t long before Shearan become a household name, in what The Telegraph dubbed as ‘the most unlikely pop story of the year.’
In 2012, he went on to take out two BRIT Awards for ‘Best British Male Solo Artist’ and ‘British Breakthrough of the Year’, and also performed at the Queen’s Jubilee celebrations, where he received rave reviews. Earlier in the year he worked with the One Direction boys, as they are going to be recording a few songs that Shear’s wrote in his early years, and most recently he announced that he will be collaborating with the one and only Taylor Swift!
Shear’s has big things on the horizon and there’s no doubt that over the next few years he will become a major player in the international music scene, which brings us to our point – go and see him immediately!! He’s an amazing artist and an even better performer, and with shows around the globe, there’s really no excuse as to why you can’t see him.
