Florence and the Machine and Dev Hynes

Way back at Coachella – or, at least a little sneaky sideshow at the Ace Hotel, Palm Springs – Florence and The Machine teamed up with Dev Hynes (aka Blood Orange, aka Lightspeed Champion) and covered the ‘90s classic ‘Hitching a Ride’ by Greenday.



Apart from that riff being incredibly pleasing, the tougher version of Florence (how is that wail/scream in the middle?) is very appealing. We like it when she’s not all florally vocals.

It’s a damn good time, especially if you have fond memories of Greenday and/or the decade that was the ‘90s.
