Grizzly Bear Shields album

From upcoming Cruel Summer.

Grizzlybear-detail_full_for_exchange

You guys, the new and excellent albums just keep being made available for streaming. We are not mad about it.

Today it’s Grizzly Bear’s Shields record. It’s the first studio album the Brooklyn-based indie-psych-pop-rock-folk band has released since 2009’s Veckatimest – and it’s been a long time coming.

The four-piece (Daniel Rossen, Christopher Bear, Ed Droste and Chris Taylor) have created a ten-track strong album that is full of contradictions. But it never sounds messy. There are moments of minimalism, and moments of grandeur, gentleness balanced with booming progressions. It’s Grizzly Bear at their best.

Listen to the whole thing here.
