Hajime Robot Restaurant, Bangkok

“The machines rose from the ashes.”

Hajimerestaurant-detail_full_for_exchange

Sorry, but as if we weren’t going to use a Terminator quote; it’s a restaurant run by robots, guys.

OK, so there are some real life people, but the draw-card (strangely) for Bangkok’s Hajime restaurant is that you’ll be served by a robot. A pretty cute one too.

You order your food (Japanese) via a touch-screen at your table and then your robot waiter – in Shogun dress – will serve you. More than that though, your new robot mate will sing and dance for you.

It’s kind of weird that it’s appealing to be served by a robot instead of an actual human-person, but we’re hoping it’s just a fun fad and we are all wise enough to realise that nothing beats the real thing. That is, unless the “real thing” is a jerk, in which case – bring on the robots!

Hajime Robot Restaurant is at Monopoly Park, Bangkok.
