Harmony, Ios

Easy to find, hard to leave...

Known for its exquisite cuisine, quaint cafes and restaurants and friendly service there are many great food spots in Greece and certainly no shortage on the island of Ios. But, if you're after a break from traditional cuisine and fancy some hammock time, Mohito's and some top notch Mexican food, then Harmony is the place for you!

Located on the cliffs of Myloplotas, Harmony attracts people from all over the world with its breathtaking views of the beach, delicious cocktails and seriously good Tex-Mex food. The restaurant has become a hot spot for young travellers and often attracts repeat clientele who simply can’t get enough of the place. Each summer Harmony showcases a new cocktail menu, food menu and entertainment calendar, ensuring that no visit is the same, and we were lucky enough to chat with the crew recently to get the lowdown of 2012 plans. Yewwww!

This summer Harmony is embracing two styles of dining; a laid-back atmosphere of beanbags, tapas, taco’s and cocktails which it has become famous for, and a more sophisticated three-course dining experience. Harmony will continue to serve up traditional Mexican dishes like enchiladas, chimichanga, burritos, chilli con carne, fajitas and nachos, and will also showcase frequently rotating specials that incorporate Mexican and world flavours to keep diners on their toes.

The new tapas menu is a brilliant addition and offers perfectly sized nibbles to tie you over in between sightseeing and beach time. The delicious assortment of tapas tacos is available in the bar lounge and the one we have our eye on is the spicy chicken taco with roasted peppers, rocket, sweet potato and a chilli, mint, corn, lime salsa. Mmmmm.

This year Harmony have teamed up with mixologist James Cosgrove to build on the classic offering of Margharita’s, Mohito’s, Caipiroska’s and Frozen Fruit Daiquiris, and add a few new concoctions to the 2012 menu. Cocktail connoisseurs can wrap their tastebuds around the new Turkish Delight Martini, the Chocolate Negroni and the very own Harmony Martini, to name just a few, as well as delicious daily specials. Breakfast shots and cocktails have also been added to the menu including the very special ‘Good Morning Harmony’ which is aimed at the travelling Aussie and infuses vegemite into a cocktail! As well as cocktails, Harmony offers a wide range of Greek wines, champagne, beer and tequila, and their popular Thai buckets and Pitchers to share will remain on the menu.

Harmony boasts live entertainment every day throughout summer ensuring there is never a dull moment on the cliff top. Resident musicians perform as the sun goes down each evening and diners are welcome to make requests and encouraged to get up and have a sing-along. Harmony will host jam nights where people can come along and do a few songs of their own on the guitar or can sing as one of the resident musicians accompanies them...a truly awesome night when you’ve got your mates together, a couple of cocktails and some holiday confidence!

We just can’t keep up with the awesomeness of this place so make sure you check it out yourself at;
