Recently 23-year-old Stanislas Giroux – a French medical student – travelled through India, specifically the state Tamil Nadu.
He is just a photography and film enthusiast (ie: not a professional) but his short film Indian Point of View is so beautifully and tenderly shot, we’re surprised he’s going to be a doctor instead of a filmmaker.
Giroux manages to capture a lot of intangible entities in his film: the feeling of bustling streets, dust, heat – you can almost smell the fragrances. But what’s most impressive is his shots of people; he manages to be quite intimate and sensitive with people that (we assume) he doesn’t know at all.
This really makes you want to go to India.
