You know who we would trust to curate an entire two-day music festival? Jay-Z. So it’s just as well that he was in charge of the line-up for Made in America.
On America’s Labor Day long weekend, Hovie and his buddies (namely Budweiser) has organised a whopper of a show to be held at Fairmont Park, Philly. The venue was chosen because, according to Jay “It’s such an iconic place, so it felt like a natural fit.”
Headlining the festival is Jay himself and Pearl Jam – who haven’t toured in a minute. Then there’s the imitable Janelle Monae, Rick Ross, D’Angelo (what a comeback!), Odd Future, Passion Pit, Skrillex, Afrojack, Santigold, Dirty Projectors, Calvin Harris and a lot more.
Pleasantly, it’s a festival that really does seem to be covering all genres and they’re all acts that were chosen because they’re believed to embody the spirit of the United States. (Even though they’re not all American.)
If you know what’s good for you, you’ll attempt to get yourself to Philly for this epic weekend.
Made in America is on September 1st and 2nd at Fairmont Park, Philadelphia. Tickets go on sale Wednesday May 23rd at 10am. (Don’t forget you’re in the future in Australia!)
