There’s still time to get to a big exhibition in California’s cultural hub (are we allowed to just decide that’s true?) San Francisco.
Really though, this city is so full of galleries, you’d have a hard time wandering around without walking head first into a bunch of culture. And we’re mad about it.
Lethal Injection is a show at 111 Minna Gallery and it features face-melting work by Robert Bowen, Isaac Pierro, Philip Lawson and Nicholas Giraud.
The artworks are almost all of a similar ilk, while maintaining their own style. The main recurring themes are an overwhelmingly colourful, frenetic feeling that is part dynamite party, part terrifying nightmare.
There’s also a lot of pop culture and art history referencing, which is almost never a bad thing.
Except we will admit that the mutant Sponge Bob Squarepants scared us silly.
111 Minna Gallery is at 111 Minna St, San Francisco.
