Mesa in Greece

Art for the people.

Mesa-detail_full_for_exchange

We know it’s an old adage, but the concept of street art really is special. The fact that no matter your education, financial position or living location, you can still be exposed to creativity is a pretty great thing.

And while street art as a term has kind of been bastardised and is often not that great, the idea of just “getting up” still has significance. No matter the concept or the style or the message, decorating the streets should always be valued.

On that tip, Mesa is not one of those crappy street artists. The Spanish artist has just created a new large-scale piece in Athens as part of the Meeting of Styles Festival there. The painting is a realistic image of a woman looking off into the distance. It has romance and a little touch of melancholy, and it’s pretty great.

Wander around Athens and you might just find it!
