Brooklyn-based Dirty Projectors have just released a new track called ‘Dance For You’.
The band – made up of David Longstreth, Amber Coffman, Angel Deradoorian (who is currently on a hiatus from the band), Brian McOmber, Nat Baldwin and Haley Dekle – already released ‘Gun Has No Trigger’ from their upcoming record Swing Lo Magellan which is due to drop on July 10th.
The song is a pretty minimalistic tune: guitars and handclaps and vocals for pretty much all of it but it then gives way to a lovely, ethereal moment; and afterwards a kind of muffled guitar solo.
Unlike many other Dirty Projectors songs, this one has Longstreth carrying the entire song on his own, with no extra vocals from his other bandmates.
You can see Dirty Projectors live at Jay-Z’s Made in America festival in Philadelphia this September.
