Google Nikolas Taverna Mykonos (go on, we dare you) and you won’t find a review less than five stars!! This authentic Greek Tavern is one of the best on this popular Greek Island and is a must-visit for every traveler.
Nikolas Taverna started operating in Agia Anna-Paraga beach in 1967 and is a family-run restaurant that first opened by Nikas Dahitildis and his wife Katerine. The pair had a passion for quality homemade food and a dream of sharing it with others and so the Taverna began – thank goodness for that! Offering high quality cuisine and top notch customer service, the restaurant was in time handed down to the Dahitildis’ daughter Anna, and in turn onto her son Nikolas. Today, various different family members work at the tavern and it continues to serve up incredible traditional Greek cuisine and attract crowds of both tourists and locals.
The restaurant is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and boasts an extensive menu of seafood, meats, stuffed vegetables and salads. You can’t go past the Mousaka (a traditional Greek dish of baked aubergine, minced lamb, cheese and tomato) or the famous onion pie. The stuffed vegetables are also to die for and the grilled meats (which are all sourced from local producers) are a must!
Nikolas Taverna is located just 5km away from Mykonos Town and is positioned right on the beach, offering you beautiful views while indulge in the delicious Greek cuisine – love that! Tables are scattered and you can sit inside this very cute blue and white restaurant or on one of the tables in the sand. If you feel like chilling at the beach rather inside the restaurant you can always grab take-away and chill out under one of the umbrella’s or free sun beds (very rare in Greece!) instead.
When it comes to homemade Greek food it really doesn’t get much better than this seaside tavern, so if you find yourself in Mykonos make sure you get yourself over there and join the many others hundreds of others who have said it is the best in the area.
