Oistins Fish Fry, Barbados

Get local.

Oistins-detail_full_for_exchange

As if you needed any specific reason to visit Barbados. From the outside it’s a tropical oasis full of beautiful beaches, beautiful people, beautiful vibes and the best weather known to this earth.

So, you don’t need another reason, but we have one for you anyway and it’s called Oistin’s Fish Fry.

Oistin is at the south of Barbados (south-east of Bridgetown) and one of the jewels in its crown is Oistin’s Fish Fry. A place where, on Friday nights, locals and visitors flock for freshly caught and freshly cooked seafood – flamed grilled tuna, swordfish, marlin, mahi-mahi and lobster are the crowd favourites, but there’s also chicken and vegetable dishes available.

There are a bunch of different vendors cooking up dinner alongside from an incredible view across the water (try to get there for the sunset) and once you’ve eaten, there are other stalls selling jewellery, leather craft, clothes and all kinds of bits and pieces.

We can already hear the Calypso music beckoning us…
