Patricia Field, NYC

The closest you’ll ever get to the ‘Sex and the City’ wardrobe...

How do you spell fashion? ‘Patricia Field’. This outrageous and outlandish designer and stylist has lived and breathed fashion her entire life and was responsible for every outfit you saw grace the screens of ‘Sex and the City’, ‘Devil Wears Prada’ and ‘Ugly Betty’ (as if you didn’t already know that!) Having styled the starlet’s as well designed her own collections, there’s no doubt that Patricia Field is the queen of fashion, and finally you can get in on a piece of the action with a visit to her boutique in the Big Apple!

Her flamboyant boutique, simply known as Patricia Field NYC, is located in Downtown New York and is set in a space that combine’s Field’s former apartment with the vacated store behind it (just thing about all the amazing outfit combo’s she thought up in that place, aiiieee!). The outside brick walls are decorated in glitter and there’s a faux snake wrapped pillar, so if this is anything to go by, you can just imagine what’s on the inside.

The fashion offering here is like nothing you’ve ever seen. Think sleeveless neon tops, studded denim cut offs, metallic jackets, printed onesies, sequinned dresses and a huge selection of jewellery, sunglasses, handbags and accessories. If you loved the styling for ‘Sex and the City’, then you’ll love ‘Sex in the City & Beyond’, a collection of pieces handpicked by Field herself. At the store you can shop a range of boutique labels as well as Field’s very own ‘House of Field’, so with a tonne of different things to look at, it’s worth putting aside at least an hour for your visit.

Once you’ve shopped up a storm, slip into Field’s old bedroom which has been transformed into a full-service salon. Offering men’s and women’s haircuts for ($40–$90), colour ($60–$150) and makeup applications ($25–$150), the salon has everything you need to complete your look and is a little bit of fun after a few hours shopping.

The website really doesn’t do the store justice but can be viewed at;, where you will find a selection of the fashion items stocked in store. Prices are reasonable, the products are amazing and the atmosphere is electric, so get yourself over to Patricia Field NYC when you’re in town and you’ll be guaranteed an awesome time!! Oh, and did we mention that Beyonce has been seen shopping there?! Yup! Say no more, go there.
