My heart pumps to the beat of different cultures. Whenever I go someplace new, it's an adventure. Whether I'm just sitting on the beach and drinking a soda or careening down a mountain on a bike, every moment is something new .And those experiences I wouldn't trade for the world.

The feeling of excitement running through your body, the stress of not knowing what direction to take, the joy of seeing places and monuments you see on tv adds the movies, the experience of immersing yourself in a foreign culture and the over whelming feeling of meeting amazing new people all get my heart pumping. Whether is be travelling to a new city or a new country you can't beat feeling all of these feelings for the first time. Tasting the food, seeing the art, running off the side of a hill and paragliding down, attempting to converse with the locals are all experiences travelling gives and my heart starts pumping with exciet just thinking about it!

My heart gets pumping from my sister talking about the awesome, exciting places she has been, people she has met, new places she's been, cultures and food she's tasted and things she has done overseas whilst on contiki tours. It makes me want to go so bad! To get the opportunity to travel, have the rush of doing things on my own and living the dream of an overseas trip. My heart starts pumping when i start thinking about what could happen... if i would just do that thing, what could happen? if i would just dare, what will be the result? Will it be Amazing like its in my imagination? Will it be worthwhile? It can be Hiking on a mountain, asking a cute girl out, jumping to the ocean in the middle of a buissines convention wearing nothing but your underwear. Will i dare to experiance somthing that scares the hell out of me, that seems so crazy and unnatural to me? That realu pumps my heart. And everytime i decided to do that thing, whatever it is, it was realy worthwhile. Every single time. So... the conclusion is: it's better to do, then to beat yourself up later on about not doing it and not daring it...

Going out of the box, getting out of my shell gets my heart pumping so fast! Even as small as going to the train or another province makes my adrenaline rush go further! Why you may ask? Ive been here in my room for almost years secluded from the outside world because of my kidney transplant thing plus the advice of my Doctor. Imagine that, my only connection to the outside world is the computer, may it be with foods, sceneries, social and communication. So everything that will be served on a silver platter to me will thrill me so good! Seeing new People, talking face to face interaction, looking at the creations of pure architectural and natural intellect is much more extreme heart pumping Contiki action to me compared to sky diving or eating fire!

Heights. I am terrified by great heights but also get a little thrilled by them at the same time. those butterflies, the little smile you have when youre walking out, the small shake standing on the edge, the thought that crosses your mind- ends up being a million thoughts (theres a reason we're not designed to jump- its called evolution, why am i doing this, its not too late), and the calm of the jump, the sheer feeling of accomplishment when you hit the water/ the parachute opens, you feel the tension of the bungee cord after free fall. And the sense of accomplishment, the heart race, and the best thing the sharing of a story.

Things that get my heart racing: Cardio, running through the park at night, running in general, watching Criminal Minds alone and thinking a serial killer is going to get me in the shower, the season finale of The Walking Dead (Did you see it? I mean holy crap, right?), getting calls from the guy I like, drinking too many Red Bulls, looking out the window of a small plane when it turns (the ground gets suspiciously closer), being tweeted by celebrities (Still waiting on Jimmy Fallon!), scary movies with suspenseful music, pictures of Channing Tatum, lighting candles. (Because you never know when there'll be a gas leak,) that dog down my street that acts nice to your face but then barks behind your back, and finally, the excitement I get when I plan a trip or do something on my bucket list!!

What gets my heart pumping is the secret fear that hides behind my bravery when I am trying something new. To know that I am terrified, and that I am going to do it anyway. I feel it every single time I get on a plane. I feel it in the first step I take into a new country. Travelling is filled with overwhelming moments, and it should be. I never want to take it for granted, I always want my heart to race, to hold on to that feeling that my eyes just can't get big enough to take everything in, and to be secretly scared to face something that I have never faced before. When I come out on the other side, nothing beats that feeling of pride I get from knowing that I DID IT.

My heart pumps naturally like most other humans but we all know that a holiday is more than a sun tan! The initial thrill of booking your ticket starts the heartbeat, the moment you set foot on the plane to the time the plane takes off and you know that a part of you will change because your life will not quite be the same. My heart gets pumping when I travel on my own - meeting new people and discovering the unknown, it's one of the best feelings I've ever known.

Anything where the perceived danger is greater than the actual danger will get your heart pumping. I like trying new things and facing fears - adrenalin is the best drug! Have done sky diving, white water rafting, skiing, quad biking, abseiling, trapeze and that's just off the top of my head but the biggest one that really got me was snorkelling in Dahab, Egypt - I can't swim! Freaked out at first just getting into the water knowing how deep it was. Listened to my brain which told me I could not sink because the water was heavy with salt, however my heart was pumping throughout the whole thing - was totally worth it, seeing the amazing and beautiful life under the sea!

Being woken up by your tour manager to get you packed and on the bus in under 5 minutes, because you partied too hard the night before in the Contiki Basement in the Beajoulais region. And they don't want you having to fork out the huge cash to get to the next stop. Was totally worth leaving my sleeping bag behind and having to sleep on bare mattresses for the next 12 days

My heart starts pumping when I am out on the big water with a big fishing rod and a big salmon on the line. Theres not much in life that can get you going like a good fish fight on the water. Regardless of if I catch one or not, the excitement and adventure awaits underwater. Theres some kind of thrill knowing that there is so much life under your one little boat that you cannot even see. Anyone who says fishing is boring needs to try coming out with me!!!

I love traveling but my heart really gets pumping the last few hours of the plane ride home. I am always very eager to see my loved ones, be back on Australian soil and share stories (and gifts) with family and friends. Then it's back to reality and saving for the next getaway!

Right now it's reading the line-up for this Contiki and for the thought of spending time in America for the first time - going overseas for the first time last year was amazing and now I just want to finish my uni degree so I can go travelling over the world and discover all the new and exciting stuff the world can offer whether it be good or bad experiences !!! What get's the heart pumping is the exhilarating moments in life where you're initially faced with uncertainty but you manage to conquer it. Whether this is as simple as not knowing where you should get off at the bus in your local area or when your track leader suddenly disappears when tramping out in the wilderness with no definite idea of where you are or just catching that perfect wave (as cliche as that sounds and given that I only body surf!). Some of the best moments in life are when rocking up with a carload of your friends to a beach to camp and knowing that the next couple of days are going to be to be totally superb !!

I love the moment when you walk out of the airport terminal in a new, foreign country and that rush of excitement that hits you as you realise that your adventure has just begun. There's nothing like the thought of having new experiences, absorbing a new culture and meeting new people to get your heart pumping.

What gets my heart pumping is when I am able to tell others what I have experienced. Holidays and experiences take us away from the normal environment, out of the comfort zone and into the wild. This is what makes travelling, travelling. To seek, to conquer, to feel, to be, and then to share travel stories and advice with people - it gives me the ultimate feeling of satisfaction. Sharing is caring - and going on adventure enables you to do that.

Anything with speed and/or danger. I love flying in jets, jumping out of perfectly good airplanes, rappelling down waterfalls and high-rise buildings, sloshing through Class 4 rivers, ziplining between mountains, whirling about on roller coasters, being whipped about on choppy ocean waves at crazy speeds, eating unrecognizable foods, and being strapped to bungee cords by my feet. But I'd say there's nothing more thrilling than the excitement of experiencing new cultures with new friends from all over the world.

As a girl that has been babied and raised by "slightly" over-protective parents my , on my overseas trips in 2010 and 2011 without my parents, I really felt like a bird learning to fly. There was a huge mixture of excitement and nervousness, but once I landed in the new country, I just spread out my wings and flew! Each day was exhilarating. Whether I was out and about exploring, or trying some of the most delicious food I've ever eaten, my heart was just constantly racing with excitement. When I tell my friends and family about my trip, the excitement reignites no matter how many times I tell it. I can't wait to go overseas again. I honestly hope I can make travel an annual thing. It's one of the things that really gets my heart pumping!

This poem has only one real thing to say,
And that’s to pick Kylie to join LA to The Bay!
Nothing makes the heart race more for me,
Than getting something THIS awesome... for FREE!
    I promise I’ll behave, I promise I’ll be good,
If you'd just let me meet you in Hollywood.
Please Contiki, why don’t you let me go,
Check out the Gaslamp Quarter in San Diego?
Pick me! You know I’ve always been a fan,
So take me with you to get that Mission Beach tan!
If you take me to Phoenix, no matter what,
I promise I’ll keep my cool when things get hot.
For company in the Wild West, I’m the right choice,
I so want to hear the Grand Canyon echo my voice!
I’ll be your lucky charm in Vegas, I swear,
And I wont get drunk in public in my underwear!
I’ll let you keep all the cash if you promise to take,
Me with you to the beautiful waters of Bass Lake.
I’d have your back in Yosemite Sam’s backyard,
And I’ll be your motivation when the hike gets hard.
I went through a hippie stage, so I’ll fit right in,
When we get to San Fransisco and the bus pulls in!
Just when you thought that I couldn’t have another reason why,
Contiki, if you don’t pick me… Well, I look really ugly when I cry.

I know this is a long story but it is a story of a young man who was blessed to marry his best friend – please enjoy.
The story starts with two young kids that went to school together at Ben Viljoen in Groblersdal. Being a few years apart we never really knew each other more than just the timely sighting on a sports field or a stage but we always knew about each other. The story jumps ahead about five years where we accidentally ran into each other in the Virgin Active in Menlyn, Pretoria, where the story truly began.
As life would have it technology played the main role in our interactions over the next few years. We befriended each other on Facebook, chatted for hours on Skype and shared our days and our thoughts via an electronic medium, blissfully unaware of the plot twists still to come in our immediate future. We were happy but we always knew that was something missing.
As the 2010 Soccer World Cup came along and the country was in hassle and bustle, Ulrike being the sports fan she is naturally wanted to go and see some of the games staged in her backyard, and she turned to the master of the negotiations, Pienaar to source her some tickets, which he did. Discussions about Soccer tickets escalated into discussions about ‘one day’ and eventually discussions about life, love and laughter and immediately the attraction between us stated to grow.
Then I started the chivalrous task of courting the lady Ulrike, in the only way I know how, occupying every second she had available with m, myself and I. We went to see the Parlotones, Daughtry, played squash, spent hours on the couch chatting about everything and nothing and the love started to grow.
The daunting task of meeting the parents was still on the horizon… something that I believed went quite well (being a non-avid golfer). The love between us then hit high gear and we realised we had found the person we were going to spend our lives with. We then decided to travel to Sweden over Christmas and then the planning started… as I wanted to make Ulrike my wife and I wanted to ask for her hand in Sweden.
Between booking a romantic suite in the Ice Hotel in Sweden, making her dream ring in secret (something I just had to get perfect), asking parents in a 5 min gap we had alone and ensuring Ulrike that I would never propose in Sweden the plan was set to make Ulrike my wife.
The plan had to be airtight, nobody must know and Ulrike must not find out. Other than me, the ring maker, the reception lady at the Ice Hotel (that I had to beg for a room) and her parents (at the last moment) nobody knew. I had to hide the ring after it was made, transport it safely on the flight and ensure Ulrike would never know about the ring until the last moment.
On the second day in Sweden we flew to Kiruna to go to the Ice Hotel. We arrived in minus 30 degrees, got our snow clothes, I surprised her with a Ice Suite made up of numerous ice sculptures and we went off to our activities, Ice Mobile ride, dinner, walks in the snow, drinks in the Ice Bar and thousands of photos. Finally we had a moment alone in our suite; I faked a flat battery (for the camera) and ran to get the ring. And being dressed like the Oros man helped because I could conceal the ring in my pocket.
As I got back to the suite Ulrike was laying there on the ice bed, on an Elk skin, she looked like an angel, unsuspecting and absolutely beautiful. I smiled and asked her to come over to me, I held her in my arms, I kissed her, looked her in the eyes and I went down on one knee and she immediately started to smile, the kind of smile that I will remember for as long as I live. I then proceeded to made her three promises of life, laughter and love as I looked her in the eyes and held her hands, I took out the ring, opened the box and asked her if she would please marry me. She gave a little jump, smiled and said yes, yes, yes and gave me a huge kiss!
The moment was perfect, the love was pure and the future lies brightly in front of us like the morning star, constant and spectacular.
This is the story of the love between two best friend and how we started our journey, now we want you to write a new chapter in our love by considering us for this unbelievable prize.

    Biggest Bungees!
After jumping the Orlando Towers twice I want to go do the highest bungee jumps in the world.
    5. Europabrücke Bridge, Austria (192m)
    4. Bloukrans Bridge, SA – (216m)
    3. Verzasca Dam, Switzerland (220m)
    2. Macau Tower, China (233m)
    1. Royal Gorge Suspension Bridge, USA (321m) – The first drop you fall for more than 10 seconds and after the first rebound you fall 120m.
    Extra plus:
Volcano Bungee near Pucon, Chile (137m) - You jump out of a helicopter over an active smoking volcano towards molten lava and flown home at 135km/h while hanging right there!

    Highest/Lowest Guinness World Record.
I want to be the first person to reach the highest point (Everest 8,848m) AND the lowest point (Marianas Trench -10,898m) on earth. Six months training, followed by flights into Kathmandu, equipment and Sherpa hire and 70-day trip will cost me about R350k to climb Everest. Then I will fly to Guam, catch a 322km boat-ride south, jump in the green Deepsea Challenger, sponsored by National Geographic and descend to Marianas Trench almost 11km under sea. This will make me the first person to travel almost 20km vertically and break a Guinness World record.

I like to get married in the Ice Hotel in Sweden. They have build a chappel completely out of ice, they have ice sculptures, spectacular lighting, the pobium is ice blocks and the congregation sits on elk skins on ice blocks.
I want to stand there in my white penguin suit (hahaha!) and look down the isle as my beautiful wife walks towards me, with her pearl white dress, electrifiying smile and her sculpted hair. I would want to make promises of love, life and laughter and put a huge diamond ring on her finger because there is no more fitting place to give diamonds than in an ice chappel. I want to give her the warmest kiss and make her belive in true love.
Then I want to take my bride on a reindeer sleigh ride under the northern lights and sleep in the Ice Hotel at -5 degrees on elk skin.

As a man with an unusually slow heart rate (seriously, the blood bank wouldn't let me give blood its so low, I had to get a doctors certificate), I have to work hard to get my heart racing. Buts lots of things do it, some less exciting than others.
Running... running gets my heart racing.
As mentioned by a number of other people already... Heights, as in when I intend to jump from them
Being lost in an unfamiliar place (happens annoyingly often, I don't like maps)
Talking on the telephone... freaks me out
    Vicious dogs
and of course, the thrill of setting out on adventure. Grabbing that flight with 5 stopovers before your destination and still brimming with excitement at the first one, discovering new places, eating new food, and more than anything meeting new people.
These things get my heart racing !!!

    * Flying over the Grand Canyon, playing poker at Caesar's Palace and walking the streets of Tijuana (LA to the Bay, December 2007);
    * Sky diving, white water rafting, canyon swing-ing, jet boating, coming face to face with a Maori warrior at a Hangi concert and....meeting my fiancee! (Grand Explorer NZ, December 2008);
    * White water rafting in Austria (following the poor choice of consuming 12 shots in a Munich beer hall), seeing the Colosseum in Rome (European Inspiration, June/July 2010);
    * Helicopter ride over Niagara Falls, jet boating on the St Lawrence River and the view from the CN Tower (Eastern Escapade July 2011).
The combination of thrilling activities and discovering new cities and cultures are guaranteed to get my heart pumping. However I think what will get my heart pumping the most in 2012 will be seeing my beautiful bride staring back at me in December.

And caramel honey macadamia ice-cream. Always caramel honey macadamia ice-cream.

Starts with anticipation and nerves as the reality of what I am doing sinks in then my heart races with the thrill of actually doing it and in the case of the Eiffel Tower the breathtaking views I was rewarded with. Finally my heart races with excitement that I faced my fears and had an amazing experience. I am a thrill-seeker so rollercoasters get my heart pumping... and the best coasters are found in the US of A. Spiders also get my heart pumping as fast as physically possible. And the stomach in your mouth feeling you get when a plane begins its ascent. I've sky-dived and bungee-d before and they haven't given me the same rush as a long-haul flight taking off on a Contiki adventure. :) So give me a Contiki-headed plane with a rollercoaster on my screen and a spider within view and I am one adrenalin-filled excited girl!

After getting on a plane to fly to the other side of the world by myself (having never flown before) in November 2011, my heart skips beats when I think about doing it all over again. And again. And again. Until I'm too old to travel anymore, then I'll have all the memories. In short, life gets me pumping!

Why? The feeling of suspense is amazing! The tingly stomach, the excitement, the rapid HEART PUMPING! Where will I be today? What am I going to do? Who am I going to meet? And my favorite - what am I going to eat!? You cannot plan everything! (Well you can try, but where is the fun in that?!)

People. People get my heart pumping. People and communities are my passion. I am inspired and excited by all the new people that I meet. When I discover what makes them special or unique or what drives them in life, I am ecstatic. The thrill of getting to know someone is equivalent to that of skydiving or thrill seeking. The exploration of human nature, the glimpse at another person’s soul through conversation, film, or photography, is an experience that has no equivalent. To connect with another, to understand another person in this fleeting and often disconnected life is exhilarating. I can talk to anyone about anything. That is what drives me to be a doctor; that is why I went to medical school. That is why I travel. That is why I also study film and photography. To connect with others, get to know them, and in the process even better understand/know myself. This connection does not only have to happen through words. That is only a narrow view of people's range of communication. I got to know a group of Argentinians when dancing the Argentine Tango and Salsa. Their expression was through the passion of dance and the effect got my heart pumping, and that wasn’t just because I was dancing.. Once can go anywhere and enjoy an experience with good people around them. It is my dream to be plopped into a random part of the world with a camera, a journal, and a computer, and talk to people. Be a vagabond using medicine, charm, and the kindness of strangers to get by while I explore people and their natures. As Christopher McCandless, a avid traveler and the subject of the movie 'Into the Wild', put in the his last journal entry: Happiness is only real when shared.

the thought of the new and unknown. every trip is exciting for different reasons but it's the unexpected adventures you find and the people you meet along the way that make it really worthwhile. expecting one thing and going off the beaten path to experience a totally different trip that was better than you could have even imagined. knowing you threw caution to the wind and did your own thing seeing things in your own way, taking chances, getting lost, finding the things that only the locals seem to know, living from their point of view, if even for just 2 days, makes it all worth it. that's what gets my heart pumping.

Adrenaline. Pumping through my veins, sending my pulse racing and in turn my heart pumping. Science tells me this little chemical is the trigger for that feeling I can't quite get enough of. However, the story doesn't start there. It starts with the trigger of the release of this molecule into my body- and that is no mere chemical equation. It's the sense of the unknown, or the feeling that I am exactly where I am supposed to be. It's that moment when I realise I'm doing something no-one has done before, or standing where people have stood for centuries, being a part of something bigger than myself. For me, the key is to be an adrenaline junkie- recognising and seizing the heart-pounding moments and opportunities around me whenever they present themselves.

Fear. Excitement. Love. My heart gets pumping for many reasons whether it be from watching a scary movie, being strapped in a roller coaster that is about to plummet over the edge, or from the little butterflies in my stomach i get from seeing a loved one. But what really gets my heart pumping is the excitement over trying something new. The seizing feeling that overcomes me when I go on an adventure for the first time. When I am all packed and about to embark on a trip of a lifetime. This feeling comes very rarely, but it is one that I relish when I get the chance.

what gets my heart pumping: "Traveling is often about pushing yourself to your limits and living a little dangerously". I have experienced adventures and thrills I could never have experienced if it wasn't for contiki, from Skydiving and Bungee Jumping on the same day in Australia, to exploring and walking the cobweb streets of Italy where I don't know a word of italian other than "Ciao Bello" and to climbing the mountains of Scotland (at least to a little prarie girl those streets seem to be mountains). Everyday is something different when travelling, and it is what pushes me to do things out of my comfort box to have a once in a life time experience! And nothing beats the thrill of packing that suitcase and heading to the airport for an experience where anything could happen.

LIVING IN THE MOMENT is what gets my heart pumping to the extreme. Hopping on a bus and not fully knowing where you are going to end up, or where you are going to sleep that night, but trusting that it will work out. The new friends you meet on a tour group and the adventures you share - even though you know your time together is limited, you still are determined to LIVE every minute and make the most of it. That grin exchanged with a mischievous local you allow into your life for a few precious moments to practice their English, or share their culture. Trying new methods of transportation, from a tuk-tuk, a bicycle built for two, or a chicken bus. That post-adventure phone call home to say “Mom, don’t worry, I’m fine, but guess what happened to me today?!” Taking the time to play with the children, or acknowledge the people asking you for money as fellow human beings. I heard a quote today: “We have two lives, and the second begins when we realize we have only one.” I try to live every day in the moment, whether that means choosing adventure abroad over stability at home, or just acting like a tourist in my hometown and seeing familiarity with new eyes. Allowing yourself to see the extraordinary in the ordinary is what gets my heart pumping!

I would have to say what really gets my heart pumping is the unknown. Booking a trip, whether by yourself or with a friend, and not knowing who you are going to meet and what you will experience, but knowing it will be amazing either way. For me, there is also some fear—fear of how I’m going to get back into “normal life” when you get back home, and the best way to explore my infliction of the travel bug! Conquering fears! I'm terrified of small confined spaces, but I couldn't pass up an opportunity to see a pharoh's tomb in Egypt, so with sweaty palms, my shaky voice and an incredibly fast heart rate I crawled down a 70 meter shaft. Not only did it get my heart racing, but it has made me confident that in the future I can conquer at least one fear every time I travel- cheaper and more fun than therapy!!

My heart gets pumping that moment when I step onto the Edgewalk of one of the tallest towers in the world, only to realize that, yes, I definitely did not outgrow my fear of heights and this was a terrible idea. My racing pulse throbs up into my ears as I force myself forward one trembling limb at a time. The line up of people behind me chatters with excitement and I feel a little ashamed of my wimpy approach. "Three safety wires" I remind myself -- but it's no use. I'm sweating like a pig, my stomach is churning, and my heart is pumping so quickly that I expect it to jump out of my chest at any moment. The latter visual disturbs me. I wonder if I'll be the first person to croak up here, I wonder how stable these grates beneath our feet are, I wonder if a gust of wind will push my pathetic 90 lb frame off the side of the track, I seriously regret eating that cheeseburger earlier, and I wonder how everyone else can be so calm and jovial. Showoffs.

In a moment, the feared gust of wind brushes past me and ... nothing happens. There's no bullying shove, no violent projectile vomiting, and – despite my worst-case scenario fears – I’m still alive. I think. I look up from my feet and loosen my white-knuckled grip on the support rope, and in that instant I’m able to appreciate the endless cityscape below me. Everything is so Polly-pocket small and I feel like a giant – not like the quivering mess I was moments earlier. My heart starts pumping again, this time with excitement, and I let out a little laugh -- so this is what everyone else was seeing. Bliss is seeing past your fear.

What gets my heart pumping? Two big life moments/changes about to happen all within the span of about a month. Taking my first trip overseas to Scotland and Ireland (a dream I've had since I was little), and upon returning to Canada I'll be moving away from home and across the country. Both things scare me because they're totally outside my comfort zone, but I know I won't regret a minute of it!

I've been wanting to travel for ages now and decided that this year is the year that I'm going to do it! I've deemed it my impulsive traveling year and so far I have done just that! It started with my first ever Contiki trip to Italy. I had a terrific time and made great friends on that trip. Which actually lead to more amazing experiences. I flew to Thailand for New Year's to meet up with people from that Contiki trip. Which lead to me traveling around Southeast Asia, practically on my own. Now I'm headed to Australia in a few weeks to meet up with some more friends from that initial Contiki trip. Deciding to get on a plan on my own and just take off with Contiki has been one of the best decisions I've ever made... it was an amazing experience and has lead to so many others! For me the thrill is taking off on your own and meeting new and interesting in people and realizing that we are really all the same deep down.

The thing that gets my heart pumping is the excitement of exploring a place in which you've never been. Discovering all the different areas, people and cultures within a country. Exploring the unknown, and make a spontaneous decision to go anywhere in the world. Sharing adventures with those around you, and enjoying it for yourself. Being amazed by different landmarks, both big and small. The built up excitement of waiting to leave to explore, and travel outside of your comfort zone is the best way to get your heart pumping, and have a great adventure.

The thing that really gets my heart pumping is travelling to a new country, experiencing the culture, tasting the amazing food, and soaking it all in. And definitely having awesome people to share it with. Like the Sailing trip I took on the Whitsundays in Australia with Contiki! We got to see some amazing scenery including whitehaven beach, and do some awesome snorkelling with huge schools of fish! It was unforgettable!

Approaching a girl in forein country, where they speak a foreign language, with the hope that you will get at least a kiss. Obviously this has to happen a night club or a bar after a few drinks. I dont just approach people during the day with intentions of getting lucky lol. So by that time of you vacation, you would know the basic greetings. You walk up to the girl, smile, greet her in her language, and hopefully body language takes over and your nights destiny is fulfilled. This my friends has been achieved but only in mauritius where her second language was english. But hey, english with a french accent is foreign to me;)

What got my heart pumping was my 2 open heart surgery survival that corrected a last minute 11th hour knocking on deaths door step aortic aneurysm that was maliciously plotting to deliver me to the gates earlier then my life's plan. What keeps my heart pumping is adventure in its purest, unflinchingly sincere, unadulterated, break-neck paced form. Since my sparing, and please don't tell my cardiologist - Was introduced to a plethora of Europe thanks to Contiki, I've walked the great wall, seen most of the worlds wonders, jumped out of an airplane, bungee jumped, formula 1 raced a lap, para-glided, kite-boarded, sand surfed, found loves true kiss, and repeatedly looked death in the face and smiled knowingly that it's not my time - there are too many miles too go before I will rest. To hell with limitations.... I know I can fly.

What makes my heart pumps - The beauty of nature in USA, the marvelous culture and perspective of different travellers and local simply blows my heart away. Being asian and educated in a local school, the lifestyle adopted by the local in US are something which we can never learnt in school and at work. The meeting of different people and the way of life in US are simple unqiue and different. I believe the exposure to US trip will certainly make me see life differently. Thank you Contiki.

the one thing that gets my heart pumping to a beat that is insatably magical is the prospect of immersing myslef into different cultures, customs and awesome experiences across the world...be it a silly pic infront of tower bridge with someone i just met, or a terrable mass produced sandwich shared by two people on a plane that have absolutely no idea what the other is saying, or a smile between travellers that share the secret of the special magic that is travel...most of all my heart pumps to a beat that can be heard across continents when I get to tell people about my incredible culture and rich heritage so that I can not only enjoy their country but convince them to visit mine so that we may all share the privilage of meeting, seeing and experiencing the people, places and things that truly define us as unique people and cultures across the world...so travel like birds in flight, travel as the sun sets on the one side of the world and rises on the other. If you must beg, beg for money to travel, if you must steal, steal from the rich cultures across the world and if you must lie, lie to your boss about where you have been for the past two weeks and be it the only leap of faith you take let it be into the wild river of the travel ravine that will lead you to a magical place shared only by fellow travellers and counterparts on journey to that place that is the never ending destination of our hearts the resting place of our soles and the window into this awesome world we live in...always believe in the beat of your heart for it will lead you to a special start....

What gets my blood pumping? Life – because it is the ultimate adventure if you allow it to be. It is through travel that we can really experience life – not just our lives, but the lives of those around us. Whether it is meeting new people or meeting up with old friends, I am always excited when I travel. The adrenaline of being lost in a foreign land; the exhilaration of new experiences - such as cave spelunking, climbing Mt. Bromo, or scuba diving in shark-infested waters; the awe of seeing truly inspiring places – be it Halong Bay, the Giant’s Causeway or Siem Reap; all of these things really get my blood pumping. The actual act of traveling – the take-off and landing of a plane, the gentle rocking of a ferry, the amazing speed of a bullet train – these things really get my blood pumping. Falling in love with a place and knowing that you eventually have to leave – this pulls at my heartstrings, but still gets my blood pumping. Meeting people that become your best friends? This part is of travel is the most exciting part, and it really inspires me to travel. Knowing that a trip is going to eventually give you awesome memories, and will lead to you planning your next adventure – that really gets my blood pumping too!

What gets my heart pumping is the thrill of global transportation! Riding in the back of a truck in Roatan, Honduras, in a tuk-tuk in Bangkok, Thailand, the contiki bus on the Arc de Triomphe traffic circle in Paris while blasting heavy metal!, an overnight houseboat in Halong Bay, Vietnam, or even a bright yellow taxi in New York City. It never amazes when I travel all the different ways people move around. Getting to experience it first hand plus the places and views you see and people you meet whilst doing so is amazing! Another reason I kinda love Contiki. The bus alone is an experience, travelling around with a group of international strangers who in a matter of days or even hours are friends for life! SO EXCITING and HEART PUMPING!!

I've been skydiving, white water rafting, bungee jumping, cliff diving, and everything in between. But nothing gets my heart pumping like the pure adrenaline of the unknown. The familiar is looked at as comforting and secure. This may be true for some people, but for me it's just boring. To be put into a situation with incredible sights to be seen, loving people to be met, things about myself that I never knew to be learned, and the best time of my life to be had- nothing can beat that feeling. The challenge of coming out of my shell and being reliant on nothing but myself and a bunch of strangers goes beyond words. Feeling alive is all I need in life.

So many things.. Being lost in the Italian subway from my school tour group when I was fourteen, trying to decide what to do with my life in terms of career, the thought of not achieving everything I hope to do, staying in one town for too long, and thinking of my final exams at the end of the year. When I was younger it was going over big hills in cars. However, being a member of my school drama club, the most heart pumping and exhilarating experience that I've become addicted to is the rush and nerves of appearing onstage on opening night, terrified that you'll forget your lines or miss your cues, or walk into a set piece (which HURTS) but knowing that you'll fumble through it in the worst of cases and will still have a lot of fun with other like minded people.

Last year I booked a trip to Europe by myself and was flying overseas for my first time, by myself to do the Contiki European Spirit! When I landed in Paris, I discovered that one of the wheels on my bag had broken off and that my transfer from the airport to the hotel hadn't arrived. It was a late flight so my heart was pounding with nervousness! I made my way to the hotel by myself at midnight and by the time I dragged my broken bag out of the taxi, made my way up the numerous steps to the hotel and deciphered the hotel clerk's muffled translations, I realised that my hotel had not been booked in properly and I was without a hotel for my first night in Paris.
Walking around in Paris, with a broken bag, in a foreign country, by myself was probably the most heart racing experience I have ever had - and I wouldn't swap the experience for the world!

Skiing! I went on a a ski trip to New Zealand a couple of years ago and it was the most amazing trip ever! Even though I had very sore legs, several bruises, and even managed to break a pair of skis (to which my skiing instructor informed me in his 10 years of working there he had "never seen someone break skis quite the way I did" that's some kind of accomplishment right?)

The thrill of doing something completely new, with people who I'd only just met, in a country that I'd never been in before definitely got my heart racing!

Knowing what my limits are, and exactly where my comfort zone ends and purposely pushing myself outside that zone. Could be as simple as karaoke in a bar full of people i've never met to throwing myself of a bridge with a bit of rope around my waist, to turning up to a city not knowing a single person for hundreds or thousands of kilometres. Nothing gives me a bigger rush than doing something i never thought I could or would.

Running! More seriously, it's setting a goal to do something YOU want to do despite what others may say. When I moved 2,000 miles away from my home state on my own, many thought I was crazy. I felt like this was the best thing I've ever done for my confidence. Was it scary, YES! But once I found my way around and figured out where things were and that I could do it on my own, I knew then that nothing could stop me.
I signed up for my first Contiki trip across the seas solo. My heart is racing not only from the new adventure I will encounter, but honestly from the anticipation of flying abroad and travelling with people I've never met. I know in the end it will be an experience to never forget.

What gets my heart pumping? The chance to get out of the house and my everyday life and experience something new. To venture beyond what is known and see the unknown. Whether it is going to the cinemas to see that new action movie or bungie jumping in Queenstown, NZ, its all adding to the experiences of my life and makes up who I am. It is this that gets my heart pumping. It is the shaping of my life through those I meet on my many journey's or the memories I make on my travels or the tales I tell over and over again when I return. Knowing that I am living my life with all the experiences that are out there, that will always get my heart pumping.

Particularly the month beforehand, it's all you can think about, it's what gives you energy! And who can forget that feeling of being at the airport, seeing all those huge planes and getting excited knowing that you will be on one of them! For example, I went on my first trip solo (with Contiki) last December to Thailand and it freaked me out that I was doing it alone. What gets me pumping?
Running, diving, jumping, wining and dining, catching Jersey Boys on stage in London!! So many things but nothing compares to how your heart races at the thought of love.
So setting the scene: night time in Paris (of course), your wearing a glittery cocktail dress that reflects the moonlight and a pair of manolo blahnik's. You look up from your watch and you see him standing infront of the Fontaines de la Concorde in a suit, right on time. You set off for a magical night out on the town, strolling arm-in-arm and boy, is your heart racing!
Travel romance is well and truly alive in your veins and the thought of running away to the country side to get married is all too exciting and strangely plausible.
There is nothing more real than young love and it is all that much better when it happens in a foreign city... Just the thought of it makes me flutter and it's something I am desperately craving right now.

I would have to say that the most heart-pumping, adrenaline-filled adventure I've been on was when my boyfriend and I went to Southeast Asia for three weeks, with barely a plan in hand!
I'm an event planner, so obviously planning comes naturally to me. But for this trip, we decided we were doing everything on a whim. All we had booked in advance was our flight to Hanoi, and a flight home from Bangkok three weeks later - not a single thing was planned in between! The excitement of not having a clue what lies ahead, and the opportunity to do so many exciting excursions, cities, even countries, gave us an incredible adrenaline rush!

Meeting new friends, Climbing the Eiffel tower, Partying in Barcelona, Climbing mount Vesuvius, Para-sailing in Corfu, Turkish baths in Istanbul, Walking the streets of Albania, Pub crawling in Dubrovnik, Massages in Budapest, Seeing the hills of Switzerland for the first time, Going up Jungfrau mountain, Bike rides through nudist parks in Munich, Nights out in Amsterdam then going home looking at photos and wanting to do it all over again!

Doing crazy things every year on my birthday like going into a cage with a tiger and leopard or going walking with elephants is the best way to get the blood pumping through my heart. Another great way is going to a concert and getting into the VIP section and chilling with my favorite band is absolutely amazing. With a Contiki tour doing all the events and sightseeing will just be the best way to get the heart pumping even more and creating lasting memories and making life long friends, getting excited just thinking about it :-) woohoo

    It's all about the excitement!
The waiting, the suspence. Like being at a surprise birthday party and waiting for the victim to walk through the door. Have you succeeded in suprising them? The anticipation and the amplified nerves. You cant stand still because if you do you just may need to leave before the party starts.
This is what gets my blood pumping. Or maybe it is because if my blood didnt pump i wouldnt have the urge for excitment and adventure?

Several occasions get my heart pumping:

    - When I have to do a presentation or it's exam time, I can feel my heartbeat and my hands start to feel cold.

    - When fear hits me, I look around for suspicious activity amidst the sound of my heart pumping.

    - When I'm doing something adventurous and totally out of my league, it's a mixed feeling of excitement and hesitation.

    - When I realised that my eye candy is also going on the school excursion, my heart skipped a beat and hoped that nothing goes wrong.

No matter how good or bad the occasion is, at least I'm glad that I'm still alive and pumping!

Hot Air Ballooning around Europe and Africa, rock climbing in the Grand Canyon, Sky-diving, Motor cycling around a unknown country, Back packing in a foreign land and Cruising around Cape Town... WHAT REALLY GETS ME GOING IS! Living in Soweto and running away from robbers in the midst of Alexandra Township, Driving around Jo'burg in the middle of the night with my windows open, asking a hobo to light a cigarette for me and Joy riding in the back of a police van in Joburg... hahahah! Now that really gets my heart pumping... LOL

What really gets my heart pumping is the thrill of new experiences, the excitement of not quite knowing what you are going to get yourself into, challenging every aspect of your being and rush when you accomplish something you thought was impossible.
