Peking Yard Hostel, Beijing

Not just any old hostel.

Pekingyard-detail_full_for_exchange

It’s places like the Peking Yard Hostel that are leading the hostel revolution. Say no to squeaky bunk-beds, say no to falling apart bathroom tiles, say no to threadbare sheets.

Peking Yard looks more like a boutique hotel than a youth hostel, with its flower-covered rooftop, brightly painted bedroom walls, squishy couches and gorgeous timber dining tables.

You can stay in a 10-bed dorm from about $15 per night, or if you want to get swanky, the deluxe double rooms (which have a private bathroom) are just $44 per night.

Plus, every day they take a hiking tour from Jinshanling to the Simatai section of the Great Wall of China.

(Warning: they use Comic Sans on their website, but don’t let that put you off!)
