There are a lot of super-trendy food trucks in New York City, but our favourites are the bunch of Latin American trucks that park at the Red Hook ballpark on the weekends.
Head to the ball fields and find yourself a nice patch of grass, while you scope out the best trucks at the spot. (You know our trick, just watch which truck gets the most action.)
We suggest being brave with the food here, though some of it isn’t going to be the kind of Central/South American food you’re used to.
Definitely try a pupusa, yucca, fried plantains, and – this one is a classic – grilled and spiced corn. But if you really want to play it safe, you’ll find plenty of tacos, ceviche, and tamales that are zingy and covered in lime juice.
Yum. Go to there please.
The Red Hook ball fields are at Clinton St and Bay St, Brooklyn.
