This installation art called ‘Hang on a minute lads, I’ve got a great idea’ is a ridiculous creation by artist Richard Wilson.
Currently living in Bexhill-on-Sea, East Sussex, England is a huge replica of a bus, balanced seemingly precariously on top of a the De La Warr Pavillion. It absolutely looks as though it’s going to topple off at any given moment.
Wilson was inspired by the movie The Italian Job, in which a similar situation (albeit with a cliff in the Italian Alps instead of a building) occurs. Michael Caine, playing ex-con Charlie Croker, utters – in that perpetually wonderful and recognisable voice – “Hang on a minute lads, I’ve got a great idea.”
It’s a playful piece of art that pays tribute to one of the best films ever made. It’s a damn good time and worth visiting East Sussex for. (We’re sure there are other drawcards, don’t get us twisted!)
