RIP MCA billboards by Shepard Fairey

Across Los Angeles.

Shepard Fairey was recently asked to participate in a project that was all about paying respect to the late, and very great, Adam Yauch (aka MCA) of the Beastie Boys.

Fairey has created a billboard design that pays homage to Yauch as well as the Beastie Boys’ old logo – which you’ll most easily recognise on the cover art for Licensed to Ill.

There are two billboards: one on Sunset Blvd at Las Palmas and another on Fairfax south of Santa Monica Blvd. You can go a-hunting for them yourself, but be sure to play plenty of Beastie Boys on your way.
