After a long day of travelling sometimes all you crave is a delicious and cheap meal that will taste exactly as you imagine it to. That’s where New York restaurant Roberta’s comes in. This super-hip pizzeria is a favourite with bargain-seeking locals and is best known for its wood-fire pizzas and wild theme nights.
The pizza menu is simple yet amazing, and boasts fresh ingredients that have been grown on site! ‘Zucchini Contest’ (tomato, parmigionao, zucchini, leek, garlic, basic, chilli flakes and breadcrumbs) is a very popular choice, as is ‘Charles in Chard’ (inveirno, pork sausage, rainbow chard and tomato relish) and ‘Whippersnapper’ (mozzarella, capra sarda, pancetta, snap peas and garlic). If none of these take your fancy, Roberta’s offers the classic ‘Marherita’ which you can then top with various meats and vegetables.
If you’ve got a group of mates with you, Roberta’s offers some great sharing options perfect for a special occasion. If you have a group of 8-10, you can enjoy a selection of salami, cheeses and romaine salad to start, followed by three kinds of pizza’s and gelato for just $32! For an extra $10 they’ll through in a delicious main such as the mouth-watering pork belly with fennel and rosemary, or if it’s a real celebration chuck in an additional $20 and enjoy two hours of unlimited wine and beer!
Aside from the amazing food, Roberta’s adds quirky touches to everything it does (limited edition screen printed pizza boxes for deliveries and cocktails served from jam jars, awesome) and also offers wicked party nights! The best way to keep up with everything that’s happening is to visit Roberta’s blog www.robertas.tumblr.com/ and here you’ll see details of the next night coming - the ‘Beach Party.’ Revellers will enjoy a party at Rhode Island beach followed by a full seafood dinner with unlimited wine and beer.
