Legendary filmmaker Spike Lee* has just released the trailer for his latest movie. Created on a shoe-string budget, Red Hook Summer is apparently a return to his famed guerilla-style film making.
The film's story is about a boy from Atlanta who spends his summer with his grandfather – who he has never met before – in the neighbourhood of Red Hook (which is kind of south-west Brooklyn). Evidently, it looks like a coming-of-age type joint, with a dash of religion.
The film was received well at the Sundance Film Festival, which is lucky for all of us because it's meant the movie will be given general release. A final date for said release hasn't been confirmed, but the trailer says it'll be out in August.
*If you haven't seen Do The Right Thing you can't call yourself a film lover.
