Waka Flocka Flame (aka Juaquin Malphurs) is one of hip hop’s most interesting characters these days.

The 26-year-old got his name from two fairly hilarious places: Waka is from The Muppets’ Fozzie Bear’s saying “waka waka!” and Flocka Flame was (for reasons unknown) given to him by fellow rapper Gucci Mane.

Triple F Life: Friends, Fans and Family follows his debut studio record Flockaveli and features about ten billion guest artists. Meek Mill, Drake, Trey Songz, Nicki Minaj, Flo Rida, BoB, Tyga, Ludacris, Slim Thug… it’s a smorgasboard of rap artists and even when the tracks get poppy, Waka serves them with a weirdness and bitterness that gives him the edge.
