What you should take on your trip to Europe in Summer
Don't know what to take to Europe? One of the biggest dilemmas pre jet setting to a magical destination that awaits you, is deciding on the crucial question “What should I pack?” Below is a list of items we’ve collated to make things a little easier for you. We know everyone has their own fashion style, preferences and options, but think of this a more of a little note of advice from past and current travellers to you, the future traveller.
Flight reservation number and/or booking confirmation
ID (Drivers license, 18 & over card or another form of identification)
Copy of Travel insurance
Travel document wallet
*Trip Tip: Before you leave, make a photocopy of all your important documents and leave them with a loved one or someone you can trust back home. It can be incredibly handy in the unfortunate event that any items are misplaced. Clothes (Summer)
Underwear (don’t have to go overboard but at least a few pairs)
Rainproof jacket (or small umbrella)
Swimwear and a towel
Pair of jeans
1 set of nice clothes for evenings and nights out
Walking shoes (joggers or walk shoes will work)
Dressy shoes (for those nights you want to dance the night away)
Toothbrush and toothpaste
Toiletry bag and contents
Tissues (these can come in handy on your carry-on luggage)
#1 - If it doesn't fit– don’t bother
#2 – Bulk is bad
#3 – Minimise heavy items
#4 – Always leave space for shopping
#5 – Always have a cosy jumper/sweater – it can turn into a pillow on a coach, a blanket on a plane. Even if you are going to a warm summer destination, there is usually one part of the journey that this little item comes in handy.
Label your suitcase inside and out with your name and your home address and perhaps attach a sticker, ribbon, patch or other unique identifier to your luggage to make it easier to spot.
Carry a copy of your passport, travel details and other important documents as well as your travellers cheque with you in your luggage. You should also leave a copy of all this information at home with someone trusted and contactable while you are away.
Don't pack your travel documents and passport in your luggage, rather take it with you in your carry luggage.
Remember to bring more than enough of any medication you might need along with you and carry prescriptions for any medications that you carry with you.
Camping and Concept/Budget Trip
If you are traveling on a Camping or Concept Trip you should also pack:
Towel – perhaps a quick dry towel if you like to shower on the departure mornings so you won't have to pack a wet towel in your luggage
