The Bookclub implies that you could sit at a couch and read Wilde while sipping on a martini. But evidently there isn’t so much literature to go along with your libation; instead there are photography exhibitions to peer at and table tennis to be played.
As well as table tennis, there is a pool table and just about every night there’s a different musical performance, workshop or activity to take part in.
Open from breakfast to midnight, you can mooch around eating pancakes with strawberries and bananas in the mornings and stay all day until it’s time for afternoon tea, or evening cocktails.
And don’t let the name fool you, this spot gets pretty hectic on the weekends.
The Bookclub is at 32-36 Kingsland Road, Shoreditch.
