It seems that Paris is not the only city of lights in France, because there’s also the well-known and well-loved Festival of Light in Lyon.
Every year from December 8th to December 11th, Lyon is lit up in honour of the Virgin Mary. Thousands and thousands of candles are lit all over the Old Town, as well as professional light shows projected on the walls of buildings.
Even though the premise of the festival is visual, there are also a bunch of other attractions that are aural too. Music and video plays through the town and creates a pretty magical atmosphere.
All we have in our head now is this, and we’re about to book a ticket to France.
