This Credit Card seems to be the best way to use money in Europe.
I can’t belive everyone hasn’t got one.

With the mentions of early start times and late nights out, it sounds like most days are pretty long. Is there ever time to just get away for a good head-clearing/pretty scenery run? I’m fine getting up extra early to go run, but the wake-up thread mentioned 7AM departures. Just trying to decide if I need to pack/how much running gear.

G’day! Hubby & I are doing the 21 day Europe camping this September & were just wondering how cold is it going to be? I’ve found packing tips for summer & tips for winter, but what about in between?
Thanks heaps ![]()

How did most people carry their money around in Europe? I hear ATM cards are the way to go vs. travelers checks these days. Also, did you get some sort of money belt to hide your passport and cash so pickpockets can’t get to it?
Any advice would be appreciated.

Hey all,
Just a quick question (and forgive my ignorance) but are we allowed to bring bottles of duty free alcohol with us on the tour?
I have found on previous (non-Contiki) trips that this is a cheaper option for quiet nights in (simply need to buy coke, lemonade, whatever).
Not sure if Contiki has any rules on this. Couldn’t seem to find anything on the website.
Thanks,
Sam

Hi All,
I am doing the Aegean Classic (5th July) and the Euro Inspiration (13th July) tours. Will I need a towel on either of these trips?
Thanks!

I live near Boston and am thinking of going on the Grand Northern Tour next year. I was just curious which hotel/hotels in Boston that Contiki uses. Also if anyone wants any advise on Boston let me know. I lived there for 7 years and would be glad to help.

I’m looking to spend like a madman while I am doing my Best of USA tour in september.
My question is
What is the best way to deal with lots of extra clothing and products – luggage wise?
I am unsure what happens with airport weight limits.
If you come over with the correct weighted bag, but buy a lot of stuff… You can’t take it with you, can you?
People have said to either buy another bag to put the stuff in, or to send it home to myself…
Any ideas, coz this is something I need to get straightened out so it all goes smoothly for the airport peoples and myself!

I’m going to Egypt next month and i went shopping for a suitcase and the smallest size is could find was 76 heigh, 49 across and 33 cm deep. The only suit cases i could find had the expandable pockets, i couldn’t find any without them and the ones that didn’t have them were way to big! Would this be all right or will they not except it??

Ok. I’ve posted about this before and felt reassured by moderators that something would be done about the situation if it were to arise but seriously, i’ve just read tripadvisor posts on Bedbugs at the Marrakech Hotel:
“Warning..bed bugs are not mosquitoes & bug spray will not help! Someone visited us that had them & it took my husband & I over a year & lots of money to solve problem. Between the $$$ special treatments & wrapping eveything in plastic & living out of plastic bags tied up tight. We also sat in beach chairs in our living room & slept on an air bed as we threw out our couches & bed. You have to go @ least 90 days without a bite to even begin to think you may be rid of them! Even Orkin won’t gv gaurantee. The mental anguish of this problem is horrific….don’t go!!!!!!”
AND
“As for now do not stay in a hotel which has ever reported bedbugs as they have the characteristic of reappearing now and then. It may so happen that you will end up carrying one in your baggage”

Umm…I really don’t want to stay here!

Anyone know what time we have to be on parade for a Euro Highlights meeting, and how long do they take? Reason I ask is I need to be over at Fulham Broadway for 7.45pm on the day of my pre-tour meet – I reckon it will take about 25 mins on the tube from Russell Sq. but I dont want to appear rude by making a quick getaway

i’m having a hard time finding luggage that meets the restrictions. (29×20×10) i’ve found a couple different ones that i like but they are all expandable and 11 inches deep. HELP!

I’m planning on doing the Ultimate Euro-trip and will be traveling alone. I plan on staying in Europe for about 2 months. Looking to meet some people that might be on this trip. I tend to be a bit shy when I put myself in new and different situations but like to do it anyway. Hope to hear from some potentialy new friends!

1) Do people usually sit in the same seats the whole time? Or each time you get on, do people pick new spots?
2) Sorry if this is a dumb question, but is there a bathroom on the bus? I’m sure it’s been asked before, but I’m sticking it in with my first question! ;-)
3) Another question that may have already been asked – how many people can fit on a bus (how many people per tour is there usually?)

Hi, I just booked my european discovery trip for 9/26. I noticed we will be in munich
during oktoberfest and was wondering about what time we arrive in munich from rhine valley and if we would be able to go on our own to a tent. I hear you have to get to a tent early to get a seat, and I really dont want to miss this! thanks.

Hi people,
Am considering booking the Beaches and Reef tour sometime in October this year, just wondered if anyone had been on this and could tell me what the accommodation was like and names of exact hotels/lodges you stay at??
Also noticed that from Cairns to Sydney it is slightly cheaper than from Sydney to Cairns yet both are same duration of days – just wondered why this was?
Thanks
Jan
