Hey everyone!! I am going on my first tour in September 08 so I have been reading the forums to get some advice. I noticed that some people prefer to bring debit cards than exchanging money into euros or pounds. I am from the United States and I’m thinking it might be more convienant for me to just use my debit card. Any thoughts or suggestions?

When touring the paris opera house, are you able to see all parts/storeys of the paris opera house? Does the tour allow you to go down below stage level to the other 7 existing storeys, including the lake which is famous for the Phantom of the Opera? ![]()

Hi there,
I’m planning to book and pay in full (to get 12 month earlybird discount).I’m about 99% on the correct date (dates not released yet for when I want to go, but know when I should be free during the time I’m looking to go)
Just wondering what will happen if I’ve paid in full and then have to change the date? Will I just have to pay the difference (if there is any?)
Thanks

I am going on the 21 day camping tour and would love to see Neuschwanstein castle. Is this a common sight for contiki travelers while in Munich? I understand its about an hour or 2 from Munich to Fussen (the closest train to the castle is in Fussen), so is this a doable trip??

I’ve decided to stick with either one country or a region during my first tour…I don’t like the idea of trying to understand and absorb Europe in a rush.
I’m torn—I don’t know whether to do Ireland, the UK, Spain, Italy, or Turkey! I’m 26, easy to get along with, and I enjoy drinking and casual sex, so Contiki sounds like the tour to go with…
but can anybody recommend something?

Hey,
OK maybe Im worrying a little too much but I am scheduled for a 845 am tour of the Vatican while I am on the European Discovery. I know in one of the travelouges it mentions that the TM took everyone to the Vatican in the morning by bus and 2 trains. They arrived later then I need to because I booked my own private tour.
I guess my questions is…Is it hard to get around Rome without my TM and is the transportaion I need open when I need to go?
Thanks

Hi guys ![]()
Are WiFi hotspots generally quite common, widespread and reliable throughout Europe?
Am thinking about buying an iTouch as a device to keep me both entertained and informed during my Europe trip.
Thanks ![]()

Is anyone else going on this tour? I am a late twenties female from San Francisco. I never received any optional excursion info from Contiki and was wondering if there will be hiking or skiing options, so that I can pack the right clothing for the weather.

Hi Everyone,
I’m going to be booking tomorrow for the 18 day Europe tour for this spring. I’m not sure why, but I am pretty nervous about it. What if my luggage gets lost or flight delayed? What if I love Italy and can’t bear to leave, or what if I don’t have enough Euro Dollars, and what if I don’t meet new tour-mates? Will it be rushed in the pace of the trip? I guess I just need a little reassurance that it will be worth it. (Seems like so much money!) Can anyone offer any tips or words of wisdom? I guess I’m just looking to know from past travellers if it is as good as it’s cracked up to be. Thanks so much,
Melissa

I was wondering if anyone has taken this tour. If so, was there enough time to see everything that was recommended and extra sites in France. I am interested in visiting the Catacombs and Jim Morrison’s gravesite.
I can’t decide if i should stay in Paris longer or go to Amsterdam.
Thx!

Hi Contikier’s,
Two of my friends and I have just booked our NZ holiday and as you would expect we are extremely excited. Having a look at the itinerary I was considering the Franz Joseph Glacier hike but am a little worried that there isn’t enough time for it as it takes about 4hrs (apparently).
Is it worth doing? It looks amazing.
Cheers
Jess
