i have a week in Sydney pre departure for the R&R Contiki tour ….. anyone else around then and up for some site seeing.

ANyone planning any trips to Europe this fall, say Sept-Dec.?? If so, which ones? ANyone have recommendations for a 15-30 day tour..

I am going on several contiki trips but the last one is in Scandinavia. It says I can only take a luggage much smaller than the one on the other trips. Do they actually measure the luggage. Will my larger luggage be ok?
Also Did anybody bring local cash to scandi or can i just use my bank card?

Hiya i’m looking at the Grand Southan NY – LA tour so that i can stay afew days in LA after but im having trouble choosing the best time to go. i own my own business and work at different jobs so leaving at any time of year will be difficult. i was wondering if theres any difference people have found with going at different times of year with weather, experiences they are able to do and prices of flights and accommodation and the tour itself. i was originally looking at Oct/Nov but i think its 2 soon for planning and saving so im currently looking at Feb-march but it looks like it might be quite cold, if i waited abit longer wud it get alot more expencive? I live in England by the way. Any help would be much appreciated.

I booked the tour Canada and the Rockies starting on 23rd June from Vancouver.
My travel agent received by Contiki the confirmation of the tour and told me that everything was ok with that tour, so following this confirmation I booked the flights to reach Vancouver on 22nd of June (the day before the tour). Some days later my travel agent told me that Contiki had unexpectedly cancelled the tour. That is incredible!
The fligths that I have booked are NOT refundable and NOT modifiable so I’ll be on Vancouver on 23 June but the tour does not exist anymore.
I spent a lot of money to buy the flight tickets and now I don’t know what to do.

hey, I am planning to join Simple Italy this Dec. Have couple of questions want to ask who travelled before. 1) how’s the weather in Italy Dec/Jan? (what kind of clothes need to prepare for?)2) it’s only 12 days, should I need to take my suitcase or backpack? 3)does anyone contiki staff will pick us from airport to hotel?… Many thanks..

Before talking about Russia, I did the Berlin and Prague trip recently and had an excellent time. I strongly recommend the trip for anyone interested in Central Europe.
Anyways, for my next trip in summer 2009, I am looking at a trip to Russia and Northern Europe (specifically Russia and the Baltic for 12 days). Has anyone done this trip or a trip involving Russia? What did they like or dislike? Was it safe? I am a flexible person regarding food, lodging, etc. and am willing to take certain, non life threatening risks.
If not this trip, then I would consider Spain or Italy, but I am looking to travel “off the common path” and enjoy a completely different travel experience . . .

wondering if there might be any impending cancellations for the mexico or california tours (san diego) because of the swine flu scare in mexico and reported cases in california?!?
should I hold off on booking a May trip?
anyone from Contiki able to answer?

Hi, I am a 23 yr old Asian American young woman travelling to Spain in the upcoming month on the Spanish Spree. While researching Spain, I have come across some articles that have me troubled concerning negative Spanish attitudes towards other races. Can any past travellers tell me about their experiences with this issue?

so i initially thought that I was to be staying at the royal national the night b4 tour starts…and on my itinaray receipt thing is says transfer to royal national on own…which is fine…but then in the tour documents book the voucher is for a one night stay at the Imperial…once again all is fine…but anyone know why it may have switched on me? also are the imperial and royal national close together? and finally the morning of we are supposed to meet at 630or 645 am at the royal national…now that im apparently at the imperial do I find my own way over to the royal national or do we get picked up and brought over there?? anybody? im slightly confused

I am doing a tour in May and have one full day in Paris.
Has anyone used the hop on hop off bus in Paris?
I was thinking of doing this as I am worried I won’t get to see everything and thought maybe this option would be better as it goes to all the major sites.
But then is it better to just check everything out with fellow tour mates rather than on your own.
Any suggestions?

with tipping, say you want to tip $5, but you only have a $20 note, do u get change for your tip? or do you have to fork out the 20.
i’ve always wondered this, so is there anyone who can clear it up for me?
